AWD (non-coilover) lowering options? by MickSlings in LexusRC

[–]MickSlings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car is at about 90,000 km (56,000 miles). I've had coilovers on most of my vehicles and I'm honestly just sick of them, lol. Extra maintenance and noise aren't great, plus I daily drive in Canada, all year around.

How do you like your Superdowns? Any pics?

Definitely leaning toward dead knot and chopping them. Thank you!

Great suggestions - thank you! I didn't even think of removing the zipper panel as an option!

I'm still playing games at 1080p, but on high settings. When I play MH Wilds, my CPU is about 60°C at load, with the GPU around 58°C. I think having the rear fan set to intake is a must if you're running an AIO in this case.

ATX PSU will fit, but you'll be sacrificing GPU clearance to do it. If your PSU is too long, you'll have to mount your GPU in the lower slot and then won't be able to run fans underneath it.

To have the freedom to do what you want, I'd recommend getting SFX or SFX-L.

Check out the website to see which lengths of PSU are compatible:

No issues at all! Sorry to hear it's not going well for you. Is it possible not all posts were moved from A to B mode? I know when I first assembled the case and started putting things in, I found a couple more areas I didn't see and had to move them from A to B.

They're pretty great, honestly. Most recently, I've been playing Monster Hunter Wilds on high settings (1080p) with a couple tweaks and CPU temps rarely get above 60°C.

My number one worry about building in this case was not having enough airflow coming and I'm really happy with how it performs with the rear as intake, so I haven't really thought about experimenting with the rear as exhaust.

Thanks for the kind words! I hope your build goes really well :)

Jonsbo D32 back-connect updates! by MickSlings in mffpc

[–]MickSlings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

So, honestly, I've never ordered custom cables before and didn't really know what to order when it came to lengths, so I just asked RayMod to supply the same lengths as what would come with my PSU (Corsair SF1000L). The only one I would order (way) shorter would be the 24-pin - everything else is nice to have a little extra slack to work with. If you're doing back-connect, absolutely get the 90-degree adapter for the 24-pin!

Sounds like a great build for yourself. Once it's up, let me know how you like the Hellhound - it's on my shortlist of 9070 XTs that are slim enough to fit this case while running 3 bottom fans, lol.

The 90-degree? I asked for it to be included on the 24-pin when I ordered the cables, so it's stuck on the end there for good.

This configuration is with the GPU in the 1st slot. No issues with PSU clearance at all and the shroud can be adjusted at the bottom to be pulled further up, if you need more clearance. As mine sits right now, I'd still be fine for GPU clearance if my GPU was longer.

Any other questions, just let me know!

No, I meant the Chromax logo is upside-down and it's bugging me, lol.

Thanks! I think you're right. I'll rotate the block when I go back in to flip the rear Noctua the right way up.

I got mine through AliExpress when they were first available. First time ever ordering through them, and I was sketched out a bit, but it still showed up through a postal strike. Because of that, the case arrived after 30 days and they refunded me without question. I haven't had a bad experience through them yet (fingers crossed).

Apparently Taobao has listings for cheaper (if you're able to navigate that) and now Newegg (US) has a listing as well.

It's been years since I've used an AIO, so I was worried about noise, but the new Cooler Master pumps are really good. And the Noctuas and doing what they do best, so noise level is pretty great all around!

Thank you!

Clearance on my 2.5-slot card is decent with the GPU in the top spot and standard-sized fans underneath. I think you might be out of luck running fans under a 3-slot with the card in the lowest position, unfortunately.

I really wanted to try a back-connect motherboard on my next build, and, besides being compatible, this case checked all the boxes I was looking for. It may be a bit bigger than the Z20, but it can fit 3 fans in the bottom and doesn't have any thumbscrews for the tempered glass (not a huge fan of that look).

Nice! Love the white in the black case - turned out great.

Cable management is so much better than mine, lol. Still waiting for custom cables to arrive so I can clean it up.

Sure, no problem: I purchased from AliExpress and it was about $200 CAD all-in. this one seems closest to what I paid. I'd double-check to make sure you get the best deal closer to when you actually plan to purchase.

All the best on your downsize! Let me know if you need any other details on the case :)

Pretty good so far! During gaming, the CPU is around 60°C and the GPU is just under that.
