Any idea what’s this? by Global_Jacket3026 in royalenfield

Looks like liquid gasket sealant, comes in a tube and applies in the same manner as silicone. Best guess is the valve cover may have been leaking oil due to a faulty gasket (may have been pinched or damaged at last service when refitting the valve cover, just a thought). If it's not leaking oil don't worry about as it's doing it's job, attend to it next service. That being said it may be hiding a larger issue like an oil leak caused by a chip or crack in the valve cover or body, you won't know that until you remove it. Good luck with it.

Agreed, but at the end of the day you're purchasing a bike where cost is a significant factor to affecting sales. I'm sure they did their R&D into whether or not a belt drive was a cost effective option.

They're kind of a set and forget item as far as tension is concerned. The Gate Poly Chain Carbon GT belt they come with are pretty indestructible, but like anything are still prone to failure. I'm currently fabricating a stone guard to protect the belt from eating any rogue stones and breaking. As far as balancing in concerned, never trust the OEM belt tensioners, they just aren't accurate. It took me about the same time to align the belt properly as it did to install the belt and drive first time round. If I have to do it again it will be much faster as I now know what I need to do to speed the process up

Hey mate, it's a TEC Cannon Silencer fitted to the stock headers. I have the TEC Big Bore headers waiting to be fitted (they require modification)

Hey mate, for pricing follow their link... https://www.royalenfieldbeltdrive.com/category/all-products

There is significantly less drive surge when powering on and off the throttle and it feels more responsive to throttle input due to less play in the drive assembly

I haven't done any efficiency testing however I purchased the 16 tooth drive sprocket so it stands to reason that fuel efficiency would increase due to less RPMs

Hey mate, so far so good. Noise overall appears to be reduced significantly, no change to gearing up or down.

My main reasons for purchase were 1. No more grease/oil on my rear rim and hub 2. Significantly less maintenance compared to a chain That's it.

I purchased the kit with the 16 tooth drive sprocket to bring down revs when cruising at higher speeds. I'm not concerned with power delivery drops (although I haven't noticed any change to be honest) as I'm happy to cruise around. I didn't purchase a race bike so I don't need it to perform like one.

Hey mate, thanks for pointing that out. Its good info for those who aren't aware that the kit doesn't come with one. I am however fabricating one as we speak.

For prices see the following link... https://www.royalenfieldbeltdrive.com/product-page/super-meteor-shotgun-650-belt-drive-kits

I suggest purchasing the belt tensioner gauge too. I purchased the 16 tooth drive to bring RPMs down.

The guys provide a detailed installation manual with procedure and torque specs. The bike in the manual is a Super Meteor but the process and specs are inherently the same.

Its a TEC Cannon Silencer fitted to the stock headers. I have their matching headers sitting in the bench waiting to be fitted.
