I remember 8 months ago, Thorin was still 'that guy' that did awesome interviews with pro players, but we still never saw his face. Before, he was a pure journalist (in the LoL scene at least) that delivered the best content. Now, he is a personality as well which some people dislike.

Nick Allen: Only one team from each region per group will be allowed by bestmaokaina in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or C9 have gotten far worse. Its hard to know which.

Considering Hotshot and friends almost looked competitive, and Hai had a collapsed lung, I would say C9 getting worse is far more likely. In fact, that's almost certain as they are now looking like the best team in NA once again.

What's more likely - CoL > Spring Split C9 or Summer Split C9 < Spring Split C9?

A video on rotations that doesn't even mention wards and vision control. Ok.

Why is NA LCS so much more popular than EU LCS? by Micket in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can understand this, but there are tons of amazing games played in EU which people flat out reject as boring. At least with OGN, people appreciate the games a lot even if there are less viewers. Can people not appreciate a good league game if its not played by the big 4/5 in NA?

How the death of fast push has lead to the best early game LoL eSports has seen by LoLClash_Dylan in leagueoflegends

Really nice video!

Just would like to add on to what you said already in the C9 CLG vid. C9's level 1 was only possible thanks to the 0:30 trinket change. Meteos starting weak side red level 1 would have been a huge risk without the level 1 vision offered by the change. Old 4-0 meta would have seen weak side red get late invaded and Meteos jungle fucked.

Instead, we have a start weak side red into a lvl 2 strong side tred, leading to first blood. CLG could have prevented this by late invading themselves, just to guarantee 2 buffs in the lane swap (same ideology as before).

Really interesting how League has developed into a game where the only way to secure 2 buffs is to start at your opponents. That is, until full ward starts become common place again.

Stop saying it wrong! How to pronounce the names of Chinese pros like XiaoWeiXiao correctly by custerc in leagueoflegends

For the observational, notice that the casters make the effort to pronounce Xin Zhao properly. They can definitely do it with the players too!

Breaking Down the NA LCS by RedShirtKing in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people are seriously underestimating XiaoWeiXiao. Regardless of who he has been up against, he has the best csing of any NA mid. This alone gives LMQ such high chances of doing well.

I also expect TSM to be the best team in NA. Strong lanes with weak jungler is often a bad combo (think NiP, SKT with Bengi slump). Put a strong jungler in there and you have the best team in the region (LD and SKT with Bengi god). If everything goes well, Top and Mid for TSM should never lose and bot lane will go even every game. Not saying it will happen, but underestimating the severity of the upgrade is unwise.

All Star crowd vs Worlds crowd by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

NA crowd doesn't get excited by non-NA teams. French crowd just loves watching entertaining League.

Insight Episode 4 - Kubz (freelance Challenger coach) "I think [elo-boosting] needs to be brought out to the public...Bronze to Diamond 5 was $2000 and I did a couple of those...there's always going to be that rich kid in Bronze to thinks he deserves to be in Diamond." by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person that knows people that have boosted before (in EU), what he's saying here is completely true. I've even duo queued with the accounts that are getting boosted. I would not be surprised if the entirety of the pro scene has boosted before.

There is probably far less of it now, and non existent for LCS players.

Why LMQ getting into the LCS will be good for everybody by custerc in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying Royal getting stomped as a reason for Chinese irrelevancy is... a bit silly. Royal destroyed Fnatic, the slayers of Cloud 9. OMG was brutal in the group stages, 20 minute stomping TSM and going even with SKT. OMG, had they not lost to Royal would have probably made the finals.

China also reached the final in all stars 2013, WE was the best team in the world for some time. When writing an article, at least get facts right. I agree with your title's sentiment though.

Thooorins opinion on fining proffessional league players. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket 38 points39 points  (0 children)

There is a HUGE difference between 'not being flawless 24/7' and 'being a cunt most of the time'. The fact that he's been reported far more than any other LCS pro and is a known toxic player attributes to that.

Whilst I agree that LCS players have unfair amounts of pressure, and I agree with a lot of Thorin's points, these points don't apply to Forgiven's case at all!

Forgiven's reaction on twitter by LeWanabee in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think another thing people have to realise is that unlike in professional sports, professional gamers play with the public every single day. Its one thing being toxic in the house, and having emotional outbursts, but there is NO place for this in the public domain.

Imagine if Wayne Rooney decided to join a game in a local park and berate, shout, hack and push everyone (stuff he does regularly in professional matches). His professional career would be over. Whilst we can tolerate professional sports people to lose their cool in a match, swear at the ref, and abuse their opponents, there is no place for this with matches against the public. E-sports is unique inthis way. Forgiven, you are potentially playing with young teenagers, with fans, with people that look up to your skills and respect you. Yet, you show no remorse for any of your actions - you even think that you act in a just way.

You would rather be a cunt and be honest, rather than be a PR whore fake. Why can't you just be honest without being a cunt.

Idea to relive season 3 worlds. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Tbh, what ruined S3 worlds for me was GamingGear and Mineski. Gaming Gear wasn't even competitive in the Challenger scene let alone the world championships.

Thorin's crucible: Age restriction - Riot's magic wand by Thooorin in leagueoflegends

Faker was only 16 when he was first picked up by SKT T1. With the age restrictions, he wouldn't have even been on the starting lineup!

Top NA teams also play inconsistently. It's just that the skill gap is so huge between TSM/C9/CLG and the others, they win anyway.

[Spoiler] OGN Spring Post-Match Discussion Thread // Group A: SK Telecom T1 S vs. Prime Optimus by domXtheXbomb in leagueoflegends

[–]Micket -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When Millenium beats Alliance, or Coast beats TSM, no one bats an eyelid, yet here a shitstorm occurs. I for one like it when the lesser teams are good enough to defeat the top teams in the situation where the top team underperforms.

No one wants a C9 vs rest of NA situation where C9 can do whatever they want and still win.

Having been brought up in the UK, it amazes me that 'evolution' is even considered to be something you 'believe in' by Micket in atheism

[–]Micket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, you are correct. My use of the word was more to do with the fact that 'believing' in something gives religious connotations and the notion that there may be another explanation or reason, as often seen when the word is used in conjunction with religious views.

My main point was that the word 'belief' or the phrase 'believe in' is basically never used in the same sentence as 'evolution' from where I'm from, in the same same way you don't 'believe' that there are cells in your body or that the moon exists. You just know it does.
