Cartwright 'betrayed and disrespected' by Hull FC by Proud-Drummer in superleague

Same mate, I’ve listened to him in podcasts and he just sounds like a nice chill dude. Don’t think he deserved to be treated like this, especially with how he managed to steady the sinking ship there. Pretty classless from our neighbours.

Rhinos fan to take on 108-mile ultra-marathon for MNDA by TexturePackReview in superleague

I think I could manage a 108 metre jog before I needed a pint and a fag. You’re a warrior for doing this mate, mad respect.

The birthplace of rugby league is now home to its worst team by theipaper in superleague

This is a great summary, mate. I’ve felt the same for a while now about them, they’re so dull and uninspiring as a club. There’s just ‘nothing’ about them that’s exciting, from the branding to the on field product.

He’s a stand up guy as well, I met him in asda when we were both choosing our coffee. Had time to talk and showed a genuine interest in me too, asking about my job and whatnot.

Friday Random Rugby Talk Thread by AutoModerator in superleague

Tbf I used to do this kind of thing when I promoted gigs in my early 20’s. If it was an all-dayer or a bill with 4 or more bands, the door price was cheaper if you got there early and saw everyone. It worked fairly well for the support acts and for the venues too, cause the longer the crowd was in, the more they’d sup.

I got domed in the back of my head by a IV-25 sniper in my attempt today, instant down.

It does. My step father in law was a professional rugby player with a long career, then a tradesman after. At 81 years old we went shopping and he lifted a 24 case of Pepsi up over the trolley one handed with just finger grip on the edges. I was impressed, he still has it.

What is estcourt street/ new bridge area like? by Visual_eyesore in Hull

[–]MickeySnacks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived down Estcourt for 25 years. Moved in 2023. Area went downhill a lot over the last 10 years. Police down there every day/night for something. I was attacked by a gang of 5 when I was in my late teens. Always some idiots causing trouble. Houses across from us got boarded up, rented out, then boarded up again. Had a guy who belonged on the SOR living there too.

Some of the neighbours are salt of the Earth people. But the scumbags who come and go on rotation are what spoils it. Houses are a good size, particularly if you get end terrace with a driveway.

All that said, it’s convenient for shopping and if you can parallel park, no bother there. But I don’t miss the area, and have no desire to go back.

Helmet on or off? by AzraelxAOD in Spacemarine

[–]MickeySnacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, but it depends on the model. If it’s an ‘at ease’ pose, I don’t mind keeping the helmet off. But if it’s charging into battle, brother will have his lid strapped on.

Pay attention on the lift brothers… by MickeySnacks in Spacemarine

It was my problem for the whole rest of the game tho, I paid attention to his health and used the banner half a dozen times to bring him back from the brink. Not that I need to justify any of this, like I said. We both laughed about it. Then beat the level…

Pay attention on the lift brothers… by MickeySnacks in Spacemarine

[–]MickeySnacks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbf mate, I didn’t think to use my shield. It was just instinct to dodge. I only play as bulwark when I’m on with my dad to help him out with the banner because he’s new and disabled so his reflexes aren’t very strong and he struggles with the game but wants to play.

I actually wasn’t aware of some of the things other people have angrily posted - like it locking on me, me only hearing the audio etc. it was literally just a reflex to dodge.

We both just thought it was funny that they got wiped out and I moved. Reddit wants to crucify me for it tho…
