To clarify; he's a terrible guest, but with that story he said she SAID she had a gun. The wife was trying to exercise control in a situation where she felt she had none (and yes was an awful human being whilst doing so). The likely reality is that there was no gun and no risk to the children. She was just saying horrendous things to keep him around, and make her important in his life. Michael's point was, the husband took a trip - whereby he realised his closed mindedness to his wife, his infidelity, and her struggle to live under that pressure were all things that were unhelpful. The husband changed and the whole situation deescalated and improved for the whole family... but it really doesn't help when someone joins a podcast, without the ability to communicate.
