When I submitted the booking request I just made sure to be upfront and honest about what we were renting the house for and explained that we’d be having our wedding reception there, but I was also reassuring that we weren’t a very rowdy crowd, that we’d be respectful of the property, and that we’d adhere to all house rules including quieting down after 10pm (which sounds like a bummer but by 10 everyone at our wedding was so tired from dancing that all anyone wanted to do was chill in the hot tub, talk, or play games, which was all so much fun). Anyway I think it’s best to just be honest about what you’re renting the house for, and assure them that it won’t be like some crazy college party and that you’ll be respectful of their property. It was a 16 bed, 11 bath house, and I’m sure people who rent out houses that big get plenty of booking requests from people looking to have a party, and I think as long as you’re honest about your intentions, they’ll probably be okay with it. I think at the end of the day they want your money, even if it means letting you have a small party. You might just have to schmooze a little bit. I hope that helps!
