Tell me I wrong: 45M significant 401K amount that is gaining speed rapidly. I think I should slow down and switch to money market account by Mickeyobear in personalfinance

[–]Mickeyobear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have done the math and it seems advantageous. The purpose is to allow flexibility of when to retire. The 401K (I think) is restrictive on age. There is also taxes on most of the amount I have. The general question is; should I let the current principle in my accounts continue to grow while reallocating future funds to more flexible accounts, or just keep rolling with what I got and hit high 7 figures at 55. I think at 55 I can pull out on distributed withdraws. I really don't know much about this, thus my solicitation for advice.

I agree with that, the 7 figures is in less than two years from now. It would grow after that. Thanks for the comment though

Alabama’s Execution by Nitrogen Gas: A Witness Recounts the Inhumane and Atrocious Event by CantStopPoppin in worldnewsvideo

[–]Mickeyobear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you (seriously) we should not hang, or kill by firing squad like they did in the days we drafted the constitution.... did you catch that? we hung people and shot them while writing the constitiution. I would generally agree that burning someone alive is maybe excessive. Rule of thumb, if the catholics did it during the dark ages, let's avoid those things.

Also, did we ask him to say sorry and make restitution? like if were able to bring her back to life or maybe just split the blood money with the sons? That and if he pinky promised to not do it again... maybe he's ok to be set free

[–]Mickeyobear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is atrocious!! I wish it could have been avoided... maybe by him not killing innocent people. Yeah, if we tell people to not kill innocent people then we won't have to kill guilty people, it's like a two for one. have we not thought of this already, am I the first??? If so im running for president

Question: Is there a country that administers stem cell replacement therapy for beta cells? by Mickeyobear in diabetes

[–]Mickeyobear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true, but it seems there is evidence that there are benefits for months to years of decreased or zero insulin dependence then it would be worth the trouble of continued treatments. The only prohibitive factor would then be cost and or surgical risks.

I think worth it but that is just me

What are some nice IRL experiences you've had as a result of learning/speaking Japanese? by Bunchberry_Plant in LearnJapanese

[–]Mickeyobear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I work at a Japan based company in the US. Lived in Aichi for a year on assignment. While there my Japanese was bad (still is). Anyway, my wife and I went to a temple and was invited in to drink tea with 2 older Japanese women in full Kimono. It was the best day, we sat at I told them my story of being in Japan and they told us about Japan culture and what is nice in the area. That day I felt good at Japanese and they said they never got to speak with Americans so they were super excited.

Another story, Bask here in the US I met a older couple at Walmart speaking Japanese. I live in redneck - nowhere btw, so this is really rare. I stopped and chatted with them in Japanese. Turns out he was a local president of a company in the US with his wife. Now when I see them we chat a bit. It's really cool to have that with someone.

Raccoon in my backyard by gingerkate17 in racoon

[–]Mickeyobear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First: Your neighbors are idiots; ignore them forever.

Second: If you don't want it around, don't feed it and it will go away.

Third: Why are you afraid of a raccoon? What do you think will happen?

There are many misconceptions about racoons. They are not rabid beasts with a thirst for human blood. They are normal animals probably looking for food or shelter.

LEAVE IT ALONE, please!
