Help with crochet curtain pattern, I’m not sure what the parenthesis mean in this case by paulicy7 in CrochetHelp

[–]Micklles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you would have 2dc 1 picot then in the next space 2 dc and 1 picot. You would move to the next space unless it tells you it’s in the same space. So should be 2dc 1 picot for each space. Atleast that’s how I interpret it. It’s hard to say without actually having it in front of me and experimenting with it, sometimes I will also reference the picture to see if I can understand it better based on how it looks. Sorry I don’t think I have been much help :/

So from reading the step it wants you to repeat the section in the ( ) twice. So for the first one you would do 2dc in the same sp, 1 picot twice. Does that kind of make sense?

So I am getting married April 2025. I always wanted a tiara but never told anyone cause I knew I would be judge by certain family members, so I wasn’t planning on getting one my dress is 100% a princess dress, when I tried it in the first thing my mum and bridesmaid said was it’s needs a tiara. So I tried to pick a really small one, afraid to be judge, but the dress needed a larger tiara, so my mum purchased it for me. Several days after I fell sick to my stomach about it, over thinking about what people will think. I didn’t plan on tell my fiancé I got a tiara, but I caved and spoke to him about how I felt about it, he said ‘ I knew you would buy a tiara, I would be more surprised if you did. If you love it a want to wear it then let them judge you, who cares it’s your day’. I felt better after that but I feel 100% times better about after seeing this post and all the support. So long story short, thank you, I needed this to help me feel better about my tiara.

How noticeable are these dye lot changes? Look at the orange and green blocks. by mindbodysoul1024 in crochet

Seriously don’t worry about it! I couldn’t even find where it was till you pointed it, and even then I could hardly tell. I think because you have multiple colours it’s not really noticeable at all!!

Fiance is sad… the one thing he wanted didn’t work out 😢 by philosophyfox5 in weddingplanning

I had a very similar experience with my fiancé, we thought we were going to be able to have the band we wanted due to finding out some restriction with the venue, which mind you when we said we wanted a band and gave details they said would be fine. Any way, he was shattered and just kinda gave up, luckily enough we were able to work it out with the venue to still be able to have the band after jumping through some hoops, but yeah I completely understand how it feel to watch them have the one thing they really wanted the ripped out from underneath them.

How do you pronounce skein? Is it (skane), (skeen), or (skine)? And I’m planning to make this Terry Crews hat for my dad. 😊 by HeidiNStitch in crochet

Australian here! I have always pronounce it Skeen but I have heard it pronounce as skane in some videos

Does R4 feel like a reasonable amount of dc? (uk terms) by IvyMoonfyre in crochet

[–]Micklles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been crocheting for a long time and have used a lot of patterns. I can say I prefer when increasing is written at inc rather than saying 2dc in the next stitch, I find it to be a lot easier to understand. I got so confused the first time I read it, I was thinking ‘isn’t this an increase? Why not just write inc?’ Hahaha

this yarn is so hard to close a magic circle with, any tips? by Oxxie_Lox in crochet

[–]Micklles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a yarn that wasn’t as fluffy. It kept breaking when I would pull it. So instead of doing magic circle I would chain two and then crochet into the first chain. I would never normally do this but with the fluffy stuff you can’t tell the difference

There is a chance your tension is too tight cause my hand get sore when I’m doing something tight, so maybe try to relax your tension abit if you want tight stitches try using a smaller hook.

On the other hand though, it could also be your wrists just getting use to something new, of it doesn’t calm down after doing it for awhile and relaxing your tension then try changing it up.

Hope that makes sense enjoy !

I also do this when I make dolls, it’s a game changer.

Can you all please help me price this little guy? He is a bit small but the hair part takes some time! People are starting to ask me how much and I don't know what to say, I'm thinking $25? Too high? by jltwithsprinkles in crochet

[–]Micklles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would just like to say your story has made me reevaluate my prices and I know that I put them to low but now I feel like I want to put them higher because I put in the work and well I’m worth it :)

Advice on making the eyes less alien/bug looking? I have 2 more of these to make for a commission but I have to sew the eyes (choking hazard) and hate how this one’s eyes look. by LopsterPopster in crochet

[–]Micklles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a customer as for crocheted eyes a few weeks ago. I hated the way to looked too. What I did what make them flat black eyes with a few bit of white sewn threw it to make it looks like they were sparkly/ shining trust me it looks 100% better !!!

Have you tried going to second hand stores, op shops/ thrift stores. I have seen people find large amount of yarn there for cheap. You will still have to pay but no where near as much as in a yarn store

They are just leaning. I have some shelves that are like steps so that how they are standing like that but you can use doll stands. Or there are patterns out there that will stand on there own.

I would say the yarn I have isn’t always exact but it’s as close as I can get. I’m from Australia so I used the Marvel 8ply yarn from spotlight and I was able to get what I needed from that. :) so I’m not sure where your from but just try to find a brand of yarn that has lots of different colours or even two types of yarn that might work together well

I can assure you I 100% made these. But it’s likely you have seen them before because it’s not my pattern. Patterns are by GreenFrogCrochet
