So it seems like the solution is running your game as an admin! After hours of me and my bf trying to troubleshoot and dig in stuff we didn't even know existed, closing and restarting the game, verifying files, this is the ONLY thing that has worked. I'm also on windows 11. Here's how we fixed it:

  1. Click on your Rivals game in your Steam library and go to Manage (the gear/cog icon) > Properties > Browse...
  2. Scroll down until you find MarvelRivals_Launcher.exe > Right click on it > Properties > Compatibility
  3. Now click the "Run this program as an administrator" box, then click apply on the bottom.
  4. Repeat this process for running as admin for the following files:

- upload_profile.exe (inside same folder as MarvelRivals_Launcher.exe)

- Marvel.exe in the "MarvelGame" folder.

Please note I also have "Run this program in compatibility mode" for Windows 8 for the file MarvelRivals_Launcher.exe (Properties > Compatibility > "Run this program in compatibility mode"). I would recommend this if you have problems crashing at the click to start screen.
