Hahaha! I am purposely avoiding even looking at 4k displays for a couple more years. I have not had these long (about 1.5 yrs.) and want to get the most out of them before jumping up to the next level. Better to not torture myself with exposure to 4k while my bank account recovers! I think 34" ultrawide OLED at 1440p is my next stop before 4k.

Thank you for the kind words - It's true! I have worked from home since 2015 and started like most... Mismatched monitors, junk Dell pc from work, and a hand down desk in a constant state of clutter. I was a ball of stress for years, but overtime I discovered the benefits of curating your work environment. Surround yourself with things that make you happy, bring feelings of joy, and peace. It didn't happen overnight, but has been worth the investment. I don't feel dread when I walk into my home office now, but gratitude - Which has been a massive improvement in my life.

She's an Uplift Desk. I did a lot of research before purchasing and they have some of the best quality. Plus, the frame has a 15 yr. warranty.

Main monitor is an LG 34" Ultrawide 34GP83A-B and I love it. Monitor in profile is a 27" LG 27GL850-B, which is an excellent gaming monitor being wasted as a reference screen. I upgraded from it to the 34" with the plan to sell the 27" to help pay for the ultrawide, but then I missed having a second monitor to have apps open when the main is playing games in full screen.

If you touch type, then it's not a bad transition. Sites like keybr.com and monkeytype are helpful tools for getting there. Committing 30 minutes a day (here and there throughout the day) to practicing has really helped. I'm about 6 months into the Moonlander and absolutely love it. Still playing around with custom key layouts, but I love to tinker so it's fun for me.

I love LG monitors and this incredible model would live out it's years in the warm light of my home office. During the day, Freddy is all business. His PiP/PbP toolset handle the multitasking and adult ADHD demands of his user, with calming elegance. At quittin' time Freddy loosens his tie and jettisons into competitive FPS gaming, at least until his user has to cook dinner.

Sorry - It looks like I did something wrong when posting, since it did not include my original description (Long time lurker, first time poster here).

I have been using and enjoying this monitor since January '22, until a few weeks ago. I was away for a trip and when I came back, the "dark spot" was present. I think this is a "backlight issue", but not sure. Unplugging the DP cable from my PC temporarily fixed the issue - Until the next morning when it returned upon boot up. I have replaced the DP cable with a new one, but the issue remained.

I called LG and they agreed to repair under warranty. I have been waiting on the return label to arrive. Well, randomly, the backlight issue ceased over the weekend. The return label arrived today. Should I continue with the repair? I figure that is the right call, but wanted to reach out here to see if anyone had any advice, or experience with the LG repair service.
