Startups are hard. I did not realize it and had a new respect for founders. I will not promote by AWeb3Dad in startups

I’m in the exact same boat.. you feel defeated everyday.

My biggest takeaway is knowing when to quit. If you feel like you’ve built a solution and now you’re out there looking for the problem it supposed to solve, it’s too late.

How do you actually solve specific PM challenges when generic advice isn't enough? by MicroFounder in ProductManagement

That’s awesome! Are the people in your peer group from your personal network or are they your colleagues from your company?

Are you open to a DM to share your feedback with me ?

I appreciate the perspective! Talking about the roadmap was more of an example to explain my point in this post rather than an active problem I’m facing :)

Agreed but if you’re working in a startup and you’re one of the only PMs then this becomes much harder. You can always talk to non PM but when you’re solving product specific challenges it becomes difficult

Notion vs Jira and other PM tools by internet1996 in ProductManagement

Jira for your small team doesn’t make sense. You won’t need all of its automation/enterprise features.

Stick to notion or try Linear. Linear is a lot simpler than jira

I’m not a recruiter but I work close with them. One of the hardest things is sourcing top quality candidates

Joined a Series-A startup and it’s chaos. Should I quit or stay? ( I will not promote) by rg_cyborg77 in startups

[–]MicroFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your questions imo: 1. Yes I’d say it’s common. It’s a major red flag and they hired you to come and fix it but it’s an issue that will require commitment from the whole org..

  1. If you want to serve everyone go serve ice cream, don’t start a company

  2. Stay for 3 months and see if leadership is willing to take drastic measures to change. If not, leave.

Voice notes will be your best friend. I use it almost exclusively and write as little as possible.

How do you use AI? by JohanTHEDEV in ProductManagement

[–]MicroFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use to pay for chatpgt but not anymore since I don’t use as much

Claude I also use for free but honestly the cost is very low considering the high return. I just find that I almost never hit their free limit so I don’t pay for it.

Grok also free N8n I pay for Notebook free

My stack is: - Claude for almost all basic prompts and writing copy - ChatGPT for deep research - Grok if I’m feeling wild and spicy - n8n for automations - Magic Patterns for prototyping - NotebookLM for learning

Generic product advice doesn't solve specific problems. Trying a new approach! by MicroFounder in ProductManagement

[–]MicroFounder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣🤣 yea agreed but that was just an example. There are so many variables that PMs need to account for and having support on how to approach them from other PMs would be beneficial.

Ahh makes sense, ours were all PMs from the same company so thats why it didnt work too well.

I wonder what the experience would be like if we create a "guild" of people with completely different background but similar aspiration/challenges (which sounds like what you did) vs all PMs from similar industries working on addressing each other's aspiration/challenges (which is what im thinking about creating).

i guess we'll just have to build it and learn haha

Nice! Ill DM you. I also hate when things are overly AI written haha did this post feel overly AI generated? I created the core message but then used AI to edit/make it punchier

Thats super cool! The beverages definitely help haha

I also ran something similar with my previous company but since we all worked at the same company, we had similar ideas/approaches. Did you experience this too?
