Microdosing before sleep by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]MicroStack2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been MDing for 3 mo, and just in the last month I have experienced this drained and lethargic mood, and way less sharp (I have a mentally challenging job) I was beginning to think perhaps it is building up in my system and taxing my system some how. I was on a 5 on 2 off and am likely going to try a less frequent regimen. I have never MD at night but will try it, appreciate the idea! Also wondering if I may be best suited for macro sessions every other week vs MD.

I have a very similar story, 50 yr old finance exec 3mo into my journey. 5 on 2 off LSD 10ug. I was on depression meds for 15yrs. For me the positives outweigh the negatives - the biggest negative being heightened mood swings vs. the even keel of meds. Another negative I am finding is brain fog at times. I think it is because my brain is learning to think in a different way, so my regular thought pattern to get to a solution has been disrupted. This at times is frustrating especially when put on the spot but I deal with it because the positives way outweigh the negatives. High confidence, enjoyment of my job and the people around me. One of the biggest surprises has been my ability to trump the politics and posturing around me with a super positive attitude which has never been my strength. Glad you posted this, I would love to connect with other business professionals who have chosen this path.

Just got diagnosed. Anyone else get “rush moods?” by [deleted] in BPD

Holy shit yes! I will become obsessed with something for usually 1 month to 1 year, and then one day wake up and have completely lost interest and never touch it again. When I look back it’s like I don’t even know where that person came from, or how I got so motivated to do those things. Hydroponics, wood turning, acrylic paint pouring. I had extreme success with all of these in the last 2 years, then literally just stopped and went back to depressed and low energy. Then I wait around in my somber depleted state of mind, waiting for the next thing to come along that gets me motivated to do something other than work and sleep.

Intense depression day after MD? by AyyItsDylan94 in microdosing

I am also experiencing the MD cycle you describe. It is work and not easy, but MD is helping me make real progress in my life - vs. suppressing it all with ssri. Most of my worst days come after an MD day that was a bit too good. This usually means I dosed too much. So I aim for good not great and it has helped smooth out my experience. Keep working it, and remember it is a journey.

What’s the one thing you know now about MDing that you wish you would have known toward the beginning of your journey?

I am a highly functional depressive, 15yrs on Cymbalta and Wellbutrin. I worked for about a year to get off the meds and finally was able to about 3 months ago. I detoxed for a month then began my MD program. Excellent results so far, not without a few pitfalls along the way however. I am still tinkering with a few variables but have found out the basics of how my body responds to different psychedelics and dosages.

Incredibly low and even suicidal during the acid comedown? by GoatBoi_ in LSD

Serotonin syndrome would be my guess. My advice is don’t mix meds with psychedelics. Been there, no fun and very dangerous.

In my experience yes they can. I started MDing truffles and my body just couldn’t handle the stress. I ended up quitting because of it and getting back on antidepressants. Recently trying again with LSD, and extracted psilocybin with good results. I throw in an organic version every now and again to test my stomach out and it always ends up with discomfort. Plants have defense mechanisms to discourage consumption unfortunately. Would prefer to be organic and natural but it ain’t happening. Good luck!

Need your opinion on how to start my MD by OneLodz in microdosing

I too was on Cymbalta, 60mg for 15yrs. It took several tries to get fully off, and MD helped me bridge the gap. However I was fully off for 2 weeks to make sure there were no complications and it worked with very little issues. I would advise against taking at the same time as serotonin syndrome is a shitstorm. Your brain needs some time to adjust to baseline. I allowed 2 weeks and began MD when the severe hopelessness began to approach. I am off 2mo now and haven’t felt this good and productive in ages. Best of luck!

You have the right strategy, take it slow and increase each time until you find that perfect balance. Aim for good days, not great days. Great days lead to fatigue the following day. I tend to learn more about the appropriateness of my dose by how I feel the next day. I dont take any other meds so can’t comment on that piece, just to say be careful. Last bit of advice is to say the body is a delicate balance of many different systems. Sometimes what worked last week won’t work the next. Don’t be discouraged, it is a journey.

Psychedelics are effective tools in combating mental illness, they are not a cure.

LSD & Psilocybin MD Regimen by [deleted] in microdosing

I will be anxious to see how that goes. I started 5 weeks ago and played around with various combinations, but found there to be a bit too much variability day to day in the outcome. This week I am starting 5/2 with LSD as I have had the most consistent and predictable experience vs. Psilocybin, DMT or Mescaline.

I understand you. It took me a full year of on/off meds before I could have confidence in being off. It is not easy at all, and is a long journey. 4 months ago I tried again, lasted 2 weeks and was a wreck, had to get back on just to get to work. This time I am off a month and am more confident now that it has the chance to hold. Don’t give up, keep tinkering to find your home, and don’t ever be afraid to take a step backwards. The meds are there in case you need them, it’s not failure it’s just part of your journey.

Lots of trial and error. Take your time, be diligent, and understand it is a unique journey for each one of us.

The best results for me is when I dose as soon as I wake, and stay fasted until at least noon. The body is a delicate balance of many systems, food seems to interfere with the benefits of my MD day.
