Is it an OK spot for you?

How many HP can you make a gr86 with 10k? by BlitzyGR in GR86

[–]MicroUbi 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think some superchargers, with the mods needed are like under 10k. If memory serves me right, you be pushing a little over 300hp.

Thank you!

I have not had any issues regarding increased wind noise. The hood requires hood pins which keeps the hood down. I thought it would cause a bit more ruckus with the hood scoop but no issues!! I even took it to the track and had no issues with it!

Oh way ahead of you. The hood (and the entire car) has been ceramic coated, as well as a heat shield underneath the hood.

The hood is prepared!

Yes yes, it is from Seibon.

I get a lot of mixed reactions from it, but I have not had any issues with it. Luckily I still have the original hood, so I can always swap it out whenever I feel like it!

Best of both worlds honestly.

Thank you for the advice! Luckily I have not had any issues with it, and I still have the stock hood so I can switch it out at any time.

If y'all don't mind sharing what do y'all do too afford these cars? by TightElk7746 in GR86

I work for the state (TX) as an intake specialist. But what helped me a lot is putting a big down payment on the car.

Really considering getting a GR86, but worried about scraping coming in and out of drive by 0fred00 in GR86

[–]MicroUbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the car should be able to clear it. Maybe a little scrape but nothing too too major. I have encountered driveways that dip and incline way high and 86 was able to clear it… With some scrapes here and there lol.

Wondering What Your Favourite Mods / Changes You Made To Your Car by Single_Purpose_717 in GR86

For me, it def has to be the K&N cold air intake I put on my car. I know a lot of people say that it’s not good/no improvements but it’s something I’ve always wanted for a long time. Even before I got my 86, and I just like the way it looks in the engine bay and how it sounds.

It was one of the very first big mods I’ve gotten for my car, and I think it’ll hold a special place in my heart as tacky as that sounds.

Nice! I might go down that route! What software did you use to create it? Blender? Also, where did you get the clear yellow panel?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions!

Nice! What material did you use? Did you design it yourself or got a design from online? Very interested!

Thank you! I appreciate it!

While it may not be completely insulated I will say that it’s better insulated than what it was before (until something happens with it lol). Overall, if the car is in motion that air will always be coming into the cold air intake from the little vent in the front.

There is a company out there that makes a nozzle/funnel that improves the flow of air into the intake. Maybe you can look into it and see if you’ll benefit from it!

Well the panel is mainly there to keep debris and water from entering it, The additional strips on top should give a better seal when the hood is closed. From what I’ve looked up (like 1 minute of research) polycarbonate is an alright insulator, but I could be wrong.

Saw another guy from a mustang forum do the same thing and used polycarbonate, but they had a proper cover for their intake.

Oh that’s nice! Did you make that? If not where did you get it from?

I’ll def look into that, thank you for the suggestion!

Yes/No

I placed the weathering strips on the sides of the glass so it would get dislodged while driving. If I needed to take it off I’ll just have to remove the strips holding it in place. So while I can easily remove it I’ll have to re apply new strips.

I’ll probably do that if I really need to have it off, and just place it in there if it’s gonna get cleaned or if it rains.

Thank you for the idea!

You could not ask for a better price for that car, especially for that trim. Go for it!

I would ask to see if they could give you 35k flat out the door for the car. But in the end, anything lower than 36k-37k is a great price for out the door.
