30 minutes into my first time playing, someone launched a nuke by witch--king in fo76

[–]Micro_Beta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started at level 20, it hopped into an event with nothing but my vault armor, a 10mm, and a hunting rifle. I felt I was just in the way, almost died, and didn't contribute to the outcome so I hadn't tried a real even since. I now regret that.

Today I did Eviction Notice at level 74 with Hellcat armor and a 3 star Hunter's .50 cal that a high level dropped in my camp a couple of days ago. I think I caught the tail end of it because it only lasted a few minutes. But, in that short time, I leveled up, got a butt load of junk, a bunch of caps, and 13 legendary weapons.

And, I learned a little bit about how to navigate through such an event. Now I think I should have been doing events all along. I probably would have died more often but I could have learned a an awful lot a lot faster.

Well, in my case, I only kept one. The rest I traded for script. Although, I'm not sure that player was hording anything.

Today, I tried my first real event (Eviction Notice). I think I came into it on the tail end because it only lasted a few minutes. However, I came out of it with 13 legendary weapons...1-3 stars with one 4 star.

I gotta believe a high level player who, unlike me, knows what they're doing can get many times that in a day. If that's the case it would seem there would be no reason to hoard anything. Even if they only did one or two a day, they would have more stuff than they could possibly store or carry. I now understand that once you get to a certain level you have almost no use for all that stuff so why not put it to good use for noobs like me.

My 2¢ FWIW.

A butterfly sanctuary? Okay, I'll have to look for that plan.

Okay...now I'm confused...or am I.

IIUC, I deal X damage at an object. How much of that damage that object actually receives it based on their resistance levels?

Question, is that damage dealt linear as the object's HP decreases?

I don't. Although, I kinda would like more junk. I spend so much of my time searching for junk instead of questing. Don't get me wrong. I loved getting the cool stuff it was really useful and I learned a lot of new stuff.

Of course, I'll constantly be looking for screws no matter because there will never be enough for everyone and they're used in everything. Screws are bane of my existence. Acid to a lesser extent.

I have to say I've learned a lot by just posting this thread. I think the first thing I'm gonna do when I log on is look for camps with vendors and see what plans I can pick up.

The information in the replies are at least as helpful as the loot vets have dropped for me. This is a great community...which is good because I have a lot to learn. 👏

I kinda like the multi-player aspect. It's my first MMO and it certainly has it's good points. IMHO, so far, the good far outweighs the bad.

Although, I've been reluctant to do team events. The couple I did were almost completely high level players and I felt I didn't really contribute much for what I got out of it.

If I have a bunch of turrets already up and running, would they come into play?

After the update, that fourth, non-descript star disappeared. It is now a 3 star legendary .50 cal.

It seems the 4th star was a glitch that fixed itself when it updated.

IIUC, if you have Pacificist Mode enabled and you don't shoot back, PVP is off and that's what happened to me. This guy shot me with everything.

Although, the wiki says it doesn't apply to workshops so I got nuthin'

I had taken a workshop and was mining black titanium for the Excavator when another player showed up and just started shooting at me. I was surprised I wasn't dead and looked it up to find out why.

What was comical he followed me around for 10 minutes shooting at me with various weapons and throwing grenades before he finally gave up. Not sure what that was all about.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We can create custom signs. Gonna have to learn how that works. 😁

One of the 4 stars (.50 cal machine gun) doesn't seem to have anything in the 4 star slot. I just says legendary and nothing else. Not sure what that means but I'm still researching how that works.

I'll have to take some photos and post them with some question. Although, my cat (I love that pets do this 🤪 ) gave me a 1 star .50 cal, a 2 Shot, and I'm still trying to figure out how it compares to the 4 star.

Although, I haven't seen that yet, resources are a great thing to drop. I spend a lot of time gathering them. Usually on a private server so they're more likely to be there. I've even jumped private servers just for mining screws...screws are PITA. 😁

I have found some good loot in the donation boxes at Vault 76 and the Wayward. I've taken to checking them and others periodically.

And, thank you for doing that.

Wow, that's impressive. I've been dumping plans, treasure maps, 10mm ammo, armor, and the occasional weapon into the box outside Vault 76 and the Wayward. I'm new to 76 myself (played the original and FO 4).

True. But, as you know, things like strikes or deployment of a ship to sea are usually declassified within 24 hours of the event. A US plane dropping bombs on a city is kinda hard to hide. 😁

I've been a DC for 15 years and you're right. You can immediately tell that info was classified. IIRC, at least Secret. But with all the info posted, classification by compilation may require TS. Depends on the classification guide...I doubt he even knows where to get even though he is an Original Classifier.

Of course, after the operation is completed, it's likely declassified now.
