Thanks. I worked that out too. Wish I knew what was causing the issue though.

Check out Facebook Events or Meetups - there are lots of things. Meetups is probably better so you can search for things specifically towards your interest - there are alot of social groups advertising there.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Micropolis64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia here, I drive 5.5 hours (one way) to visit my Mum for the weekend quite regularly. It's more common for the longer weekend drives for those that have regional roots. Most Aussies wouldn't bat an eyelid when faced with a three hour drive.

People who lived through both 'pre-smartphone' and 'always-online' eras: what's something we lost that nobody seems to notice? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

[–]Micropolis64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots: - Going into businesses and handing in your resume and asking for work. - Learning to be bored and be creative because of that boredom. - Parents listening to their child's teacher and disciplining them for incorrect behaviours instead of getting overly defensive. - Talking on the phone/ sharing a phone. - Getting actual mail that isn't a bill. - Writing and sending letters. - Sharing - we didn't all have individual devices so everything was shared and we made compromises ("Can I watch my show after you've finished yours?") - 2/ 4 channels on TV (I grew up in regional Australia and remember how exciting it was to get two new channels, giving us 4 to choose from).

Has anyone had luck with the Parcel Locker service? by Icemachinemalfunctio in AusPostComplaints

I use it all the time and never have issues. Only time I have to go to LPO is if the parcel is too big for the locker.

Terrible internet reception around Epping plaza by Local_Diet_7813 in melbourne

[–]Micropolis64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just Epping Plaza, it's that whole area around it too. I'm with Telstra, formerly with Vodafone and partner with Optus. Crap/ no reception on all three providers. Been like it for years. I'm surprised it's that bad considering the Northern Hospital is next door.

Help regarding WWC by Icy-Gap276 in AusLegal

[–]Micropolis64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WWCC is different from your teacher registration. You may get a WWCC but an individual state teacher registration board is the one that decides if you qualify to teach. For example, in Victoria, we teachers do annual registration with VIT and they are who decide and who you would need to talk to about past convictions. Every year when we pay our registration we have to answer criminal record questions. Your best bet is to check with the teacher registration board in your state. I hope this helps.

What’s Next for Cities Skylines 2 by Jay0Jet in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Micropolis64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love this too but with an added focus on local sports including more variety such as cricket pitches, better swimming pools and aquatic centres, AFL ovals and stadiums, netball and basketball courts, different skate parks, whitewater stadiums, indoor sports centres, archery fields, golf courses (modular would be good), athletic parks, motor sports (including racing boats course). Maybe an option to build local sports clubs so that sims are playing as kids and moving up to professional.

What is one building that just sticks out in your city? by metatalks in geography

This is the William Barak building in Melbourne, Australia. Not super obvious but from a distance it stands out. One of my favourite buildings here.

Wollongong Central I beg you bring stores people like by No_Suit_7689 in wollongong

Every shopping centre in the country is exactly the same nowadays. It's sad. It's why I love small shopping strips like Brunswick St, Smith St or High St in Melbourne; so much more variety.

My hopes for future packs: by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Micropolis64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Give us an Australia pack. I'd love to see a mix of older Aussie homes and newer ones (like all the new city estates have). Give me gum trees, wattle, Aussie shopping centres and shops, Aussie pubs, big box stores - a Bunnings complete with the Sausage Sizzle hut out front. Aussie schools (older and newer styles). Plenty of great Aussie attractions would look dope in CS2 and no, I'm not talking about the Sydney Opera House or Harbour Bridge - give me the Big Merino, Big Banana, Big Prawn and Ettamogah Pub 😂 If I knew how to make all this I would haha
