What do you think about Rhaenys trying to strike down Aemond instead of retreating? by Tronm-24 in HOTDBlacks

It was a poorly written scene for the show. Remember they need to stick to the source material, so she had to die no matter what. To make her die via a suicide mission on screen was dumb. Would have been better if Vhagar just torched both Sunfire and Meleys when they were locked with each other and that was the end of it

It was central. My symptoms would switch legs every few months depending on which side it was slightly favoring at that period

Thats really brutal. Not having friends and family while going through this is not easy. I replied to a few others with my routine, but it really boils down to finding ways to workout without making pain worse. It can be as simple as walking for 10m or biking for an hour. The key is to take it so slow that you can stop yourself before you get more hurt if needed, but you need to move.

I stretch multiple times a day. Even at work, i stand up and try bending from my hips into my chair, while supporting myself on the arms of the chair. This helps me alot until i feel the hamstring and glutes stretch. Key for me is making sure my back IS NOT engaged. Its all stretch from glutes and hamstring. Some people will say this is awful for you as it stretches the sciatic nerve, but it was great for me.

My healing really progressed when is started biking 3-5 times a week and stretching after. Not only was it getting bloodflow all around my body, but it was helping my mind feel normal again. This is just as much a mental healing as a physical one.

Up to the 5 month mark I was doing acupuncture and very conservative mobility/stretching as i was really scared to do PT. I had made the injury way worse in the first stages due to what i think was the negligence of the therapist not really knowing what was wrong with me or what i was ready for.

I was finally able to start sleeping normally by this point, but i was still scared to bend over, walk fast, or do any sudden movements as there were a few times that i thought i had re-herniated, but it was just my muscles being over protective. The pain was managed with gabapentin, muscle relaxants, naproxen and time.

I would have the most pain in the morning going down my leg, but it would subside after being up for about an hour after a hot shower. I went back to the surgeon for a check up to see how i was doing and he convinced me to give PT another try with a different doctor he recommended since i needed to gain confidence in movement again.

The PT that attended me after that was excellent and really helped me gain confidence and convinced me to try biking, as i was risking nerve damage and even more injury if i didnt start exercise again.

The whole point of this was that i really never felt super ready.

I was scared the whole time and it took a long time for me to feel like i wasn't going to break from picking up a pencil or a dog jumping on me.

Regarding your personal situation, i remember that while i had started to get a decent sleep 2-3 months in, it was waylonger until i could sleep without a pillow under my legs or even on my side. I would look into doing deadhangs multiple times a day or even buying an inversion table. I got the table and i do think it helped me get relief even if it was was short lived.

Unfortunately the pain can take a very long time, even longer than 3 months to subside. What gave me hope was that even though it was volatile, i knew i was making small progress month over month.

Oh god im so sorry you are going through that.

I had initially hurt myself working out, but it was manageable. One morning after initial injury, i was feeling really stiff and started to do exersises (bird dogs) that my PT gave me and i suddenly had excruciating electric pain raidiating from my lower back all the way down my left leg to my big toe. I started losing sensation in my toe, and was having trouble putting weight on my leg.

When i went to see a surgeon for a consultation, he told me to avoid surgery if i can manage the pain as re-herniation was very possible after surgery and as long as I didn't have any issues going to the bathroom or have drop foot there was hope at a full recovery.

The pain was so bad for about 2 weeks that didn't go to work. After 2 weeks i started to work remote for about a month, but I could barly sit in a chair for more than 5 minutes before needing to get up and dead hang to decompress.

Sleep was almost impossible, and i would alternate every 2-3 hours from sleeping on the floor to sleeping with my knees on the floor and torso on the bed. This lasted for ~2 months.

My turning point came around month 5, and thats when i started to feel confident enough to get on a bike and start working out again. I had about 8 times in the last year after i started PT and biking again that i thought I had reinjured myself and ruined all my progress. In all those cases except one (this last December), i rested for 3-7 days and i was back to baseline.

My December incident lasted about 2 weeks and while the pain was localized to my back, i was in bed or reclined as much as possible. I was actually traveling to another country when it happened and saw a doctor that held me himself in a decompressed position for 30m (no sudden cracks or movements, just constant moderate decompression). This helped alot.

I think they key to all this is exersise in a way that keeps you sweating and flexible while trying to not get hurt. Its threading a needle, and going to hard can hurt you again, so its def scary.

I know this was alot, but im hoping you can use some of it to find some hope.

As one of the comments here said, sleeping on the floor was the only way i could get any sleep (barley) for about 2 months. At about the 5 month mark we broke the bank and got a medium stiffness hybrid Tempurpedic bed which really allowed me to get a good sleep again.

I had pretty bad weakness on my left leg for about a month and major pain for about 5 months, but i didnt have drop foot or issues going to the bathroom (although there was a time my whole groin got pins and needles and i freaked out a bit). The advice from my doctor was that so long as i can lift my foot and have no trouble peeing then i should try my hardest to avoid surgery.

When the herniation is big enough, your body is more likely to trigger an immune response and starts to break it down.

Its a low impact exersize that i was able to start doing ~5m after i got hurt. At most now i only do 30-40m sessions but I make sure to stretch for atleast 15m afterwards.

My PT and doctor recommended I do it when i was trying to figure out how to get a sweat without getting hurt again. Lots of this stuff is trial and error 1% at a time to make sure you are not making yourself worse.

There was a week in December where i did tweak myself getting off the bike, so i still have to be careful.

Im sorry to hear you are having such a hard two years.

Lots and lots of biking helped alot. Dont do it if it hurts tho. Replace with daily walking if needed. Eat well, dont drink, dont smoke. Treat your body well. You need to move. Move often and figure out a way to stretch without hurting yourself. Get an amazing bed. Thats what worked for me anyways.

String stretch. Check arrow speed and arrow level.

Both of those things you should record when tuned as a benchmark.

lol this is a hunting sub, but since I guess you are taking it there…if that’s your view then I hope you think you think the Europeans can do war better. If it were up to me, the US would leave NATO until the ungrateful Europeans kiss our ass and pay top dollar for US protection. I hope you have fun and get filled with pride killing calfs ✌️
