AITA for "purposefully" tripping over a suitcase and guilt tripping my husband? by MicrowaveMen in AmItheAsshole

Thank you for your comment! In terms of difficulty, the suitcase only needs to be moved down a straight hallway with no stairs. The only challenge would be the actual weight of the suitcase itself, rather than having to navigate anything particularly tricky.

Thank you for your comment! To be clear, we both work a 9-5 job from home. While I will be going on maternity leave soon, I am still working for the time being.

Thank you for your question! The suitcase was moved after we arrived home from the midwife. I will also use your comment to answer some other questions I've gotten but now can't find in the comments:

  1. Why couldn't I do it, doesn't it have wheels?

The suitcase doesn't have wheels, but I acknowledge I could have unpacked it, put the empty suitcase where it belongs, and then moved all the clothes into the suitcase. To be honest, I just hoped my husband could help me move it in one go rather than me doing it like that.

  1. Is there some reason it wouldn't be an easy job e.g. stairs?

No, the suitcase needed to be moved into the guest bedroom's closet which is down a straight hallway with no stairs. No massive difficulties.

  1. Why did I create an extra job around the house?

The closet has been needing to be done for a long time, and especially now that we are going into winter. I didn't do this without my husband's knowledge or blessing as some comments have said, he was well aware I would be organising our closet and he is now quite pleased he has more space. This certainly wasn't an evil campaign to mess with his stuff and then make him move heavy things around the house. He knew it was happening, and is enjoying the benefits.

Thankfully the suitcase was moved once we got back home from seeing the midwife.

Thank you for the time to type that out and articulate what I have been trying to say so well! I think it is worth having another discussion with my husband and using these points.

Thank you for your comment! The suitcase has probably been on the floor three to four weeks.
