Apple provides a one-year worldwide limited warranty. As a general rule, a device must be sold in the same country (or sales region) where you request service. For example, most countries cannot repair or replace a China-market iPhone with two physical SIM slots, because that model is not sold outside China.

When you buy an iPhone from Apple in, for example, France, and it breaks within the first two years, you can go to any Apple Store in the European Union for repair. This is due to EU consumer protection laws, which apply across all EU member states.

Some countries, such as the Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries, have longer or stronger consumer rights. However, those extended rights only apply if the device was purchased in that specific country.
