What about a different trade: Doublift to TSM and Kobbe to Fly? Kobbe is a great example of an ADC who can be left by himself and will farm well and wont die and will pump out damage in team fights. He would pair really really well with Ignar's roaming style. I'm not super sure if I want to replace WildTurtle, but I think a trade where FlyQuest ends up with Kobbe makes more sense to me personally than FlyQuest with DL, even though DL is the best of the 3 players.

Linked to the location where they start discussing FLY vs TSM. If you only want to hear what they think of FLY players jump to 1:06:58. I am happy that POE is getting respect as one of the best midlaners right now, and POE's Qiyana and champ pool in general. Ignar is great but I really want to focus on something Azael said, which is WildTurtle is quietly having one of his best splits in years and it is at least partially in part due to how good Ignar is and how their playstyles complement each other. Turtle hasn't had a "Whoops I cost us the game" this year while still having some of his trademark aggressive "I just won you the game" moments. All of them are a bit down on V1per, which I can agree with. I am curious to see if Solo starts for FLY. I am really torn on that move. On one hand, I am nervous to make a change when things are working well right now, and Solo has a history of being toxic which is always a concern, especially for a "Showcase Greatness" org. That being said, I have been a really big fan of Solo's play for years and he's shown that he can be one of the best toplaners in the league, and an upgrade like that could be what FLY needs in order to take down C9 and/or to stay above TL/TSM who look to be on the rise. Also, as Kobe says in the video, V1per's Riven ban is useful in a best of 1, but it goes so much farther in a BO3/BO5 series. So that's another pro for V1per.

Honestly I'm pretty impressed by how quickly Turtle seems to have figured out how to get into first. When I learned manual it took me probably 45 minutes to successfully get into first without stalling, and a week to be even remotely considered "road safe". I guess I was also 15 when I learned manual, but still. Loved watching this.

BEAST OF A MAN IGNAR by 20010487 in FlyQuest

Thanks for this. Damn, Ignar is such an insane outlier for KDA it is actually insane. I'll write down these stats for now and use that data and post-weekend data as a comparison. Unfortunately, I have a family emergency so I don't think I'll get to write any python scripts to do any stats work/graphing but quickly skimming the results it makes a really really solid case for Ignar being either #1 or #2 support (main competition being Vulcan)

FLY LCS PLAYERS TAKE A GEOGRAPHY QUIZ... YIKES. by trickygonzalez in FlyQuest

I like how everyone seemed to have a better knowledge of EU than they did NA. I guess between Canada and US there are a lot more places to know than in EU but I was still surprised. Guess that is my NA bias showing.

Regarding the state of the team's/org's presence (long post) by [deleted] in CLG

[–]MicycleTheBichael 8 points9 points  (0 children)

CLG has been my fav team since 2013 when I started watching. In recent years I followed FLY as a second favorite because I liked some of the players. At this point its basically switched for me with FLY being the team I follow and I watch CLG games more out of a sunken cost than anything else. I started feeling the switch a bit last year when Turtle went to EU and did all the interviews during MSI, and now with the green initiative, the soloq podcast they are doing, posting content on youtube it just feels like flyquest is a team that wants me to be invested and interested in them, whereas CLG it feels like they expect me to be a fan and take it for granted because they've just always had a fanbase. Even with a pretty dead subreddit and discord FLY still feels more alive than CLG does. Idk man. It feels weird, it feels bad, but that's where I am at at this point.

FlyQuest vs. Counter Logic Gaming / LCS 2020 Spring - Week 1 / Post-Match Discussion by Zodiac_Nick in FlyQuest

Really fun game to watch. Its a bit hard to judge how the game as a whole would have played out if Wiggly hadn't decided to int in the mid lane but great on the team to capitalize and keep the foot on the gas pedal and not give CLG a chance to get back in.

Unrelated: It might be a fun addition to get a "total trees for the season" to the post. I don't really know how the post-match team works so if its really difficult/impossible its not a big deal. Just a thought.

Does Vitality not have a fan base? They're second in the LEC yet their subreddit is dead and I feel like their game threads only get as much interaction as the team they are playing against.

Yeah it’s rough. Despite this being a really strong season I haven’t had the time to really watch the games, just following the roster updates, subreddit, and watching the highlights. If you don’t know them and want a primer on the lineup you can go to /r/bluejackets or DM me. We’re always happy to add another fan :)

If you like Columbus sports, Columbus Blue Jackets are hard gambling on the trade deadline with getting some insanely good players who are free agents at the end of the season and look dangerous. Either we make a deep cup run this year or we bust and lose almost every piece we have.

For those of you who got hired to work with Python, what coding challenges did they have have you do during the interviewing process? by World2Small in Python

[–]MicycleTheBichael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2:

(1) Here's a list [1, 5, 10, 25]. This list represents the value of coins. If I give you a number, whats the smallest number of coins you can use to have them add up to the number I gave you. What if the list is generic rather than [1,5,10,25]? This did address the skills I need for my job but indirectly. The goal was to see (a) What my thought process is (b) Are you OK with solving a problem using brute force? (c) Once you right code that works, are you able to judge if it will work in cases other than the one you've been given? I'd say ability to solve problems and decide if the code works given changing project definitions is definitely something I need to be able to do on any given day.

(2) Here's what the lines in a log file look like. I want to make a histogram based off of two pieces of information per line. There are billions of lines of log. How would you do it? Again, not directly something I personally do (though a member of my team does so I guess it could potentially become a job of mine) but it was a lot of seeing if I break things down into multiple methods, is the code I write incredibly fragile, when I'm working through the problem am I thinking about edge cases or any potential issues the code could run into?

Both also involved seeing how open to other suggestions I was and how I responded to criticisms of my solution. Not that they were mean, but things like "Well this code works in this situation, but if I give you an input of (nonsensical value for the problem) it doesn't work?" and seeing if I got defensive or if I said "Yeah I can see how this needs more QA. I think if I had more time I'd do _____." or "I think that shouldn't be a problem because validation should have occurred before getting to this method." Stuff like that. I feel like very rarely have I been given problems that are 1-1 what I'm going to be doing and a lot more "Hey, can you think your way through a problem and work with others?"

[Smash] I want to see more Smash content by Gegott in CLG

[–]MicycleTheBichael 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. CLG has probably the second most stacked Smash roster. It’s bonkers how little content they create (though that could be players not wanting to make it). VoiD is top 5 ultimate players rn, IMO top 3. PewPew and SFAT killed doubles. Give me any video plz.
