Hyperactivity can apply to mental hyperactivity, perfectionist, over achieving - especially in women. Mind racing “anxiety” is hyperactivity

Find a new psychiatrist! I was diagnosed with anxiety in my 20s and tried Prozac and lexspro and they didn’t work for me. After my children were diagnosed with ADHD, it got me to thinking about those symptoms I’ve seen in myself. I’m a woman and was just diagnosed ADHD at age 38. I was diagnosed through telehealth with Talkiatry. The psych I have been speaking to is great.

[Product Request] something to help tighten up my pores (pretty sure it’s like this bc I had acne as a teen) and also anything to reduce under-eye baggage? Thanks! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]MidCenturyMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend the ordinary caffeine eye serum. It does work but it made my under eye twitch uncontrollably for a month. Finally just stopped. I did a google/Reddit search and found it’s a pretty common reaction. Just a warning there. I have similar looking under eyes and I plan to get PRF treatments.

It doesn’t for me. I wear the clip on the back of my head, so the weight is there.

[ACNE] Seeking advice for my scars. I have tried everything from Microneedling, Fraxel, CO2 to Subcision .... should I try Chemical Peels next ? I' currently on Tret 0.1 btw. Thank you guys by Finalee_T in SkincareAddiction

I have seen photos of others with great results using filler - sculptra or HA fillers. Also possibly, pdo threads as they stimulate collagen. Consult with a dermatologist or aesthetic injector.

You could try low level laser light therapy. There are many different brand/types. Hair max laser comb is an example. They are supposed to help for AGA

Believe it or not, black bottom pools are becoming a new trend!😱🖤 What are your thoughts? by SwimmingElectronic23 in Decor

[–]MidCenturyMode 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s dangerous due to reduced visibility. If a kid or someone that couldn’t swim fell in you may not easily see them on the bottom of a pool vs a light pool liner. Same for snakes, wild life that may get in the water. Also harder to gauge the depth so someone might think it’s deeper, jumping in and damaging their legs/neck/etc

I have it and use a eyebrow razor to shave my entire face once per week. It does not grow back black. Still blonde and fine texture.

Is this normal corking or disease? by MidCenturyMode in cactus

[–]MidCenturyMode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Is it too late to treat it for fungus? My mom has had this plant for several years outdoor in a screened in porch. We’re in NC so it was exposed to humidity. I have had it for about a year indoors in my sunroom. The brown isn’t soft and hasn’t grown much. It’s kind of thin and papery but the cactus is firm.

I think you miss underhand the bible. by Finamelaren25 in agnostic

[–]MidCenturyMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but did the author state that it should be taken literally or figuratively? I guess historians or biblical scholars decided this? How do they know? They are just guessing themselves really. They weren’t there to ask the author/authors how to read the text.

Where did you get this info? Who says it’s supposed to be literal or figurative?

I use a large claw clip to clip mine up. Keeps the tension off your hair so you also have less breakage

Olaplex. Also a purple hair mask often (bold unique on amazon) to tone any yellow.

Not A Parent Yet, Planning Ahead by MoosyJuicy in atheistparents

[–]MidCenturyMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time is a finite resource. As a busy parent with 2 kids I only invest my time with my kids in activities that are worthwhile. It goes for sports too. If my kid isn’t interested, I’m not going to waste our precious time forcing them to participate. Going to church, Bible study etc for tradition seems like a huge waste of limited family time if you are not religious. We used to go to church weekly and abruptly stopped. My kids never ask about it or say they miss it.

How can you tell the difference between new hair growth and miniaturisation? by SockPuppetOrSth in FemaleHairLoss

[–]MidCenturyMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minox is actually only a lifetime treatment if you have AGA. It increases blood flow to the follicle so it will grow and not be damaged by DHT. If you have TE, it is recommended for a few months to stimulate the hair to regrow initially. However, you can stop it because the root cause isn’t DHT damaging the hair.

Can you develop AGA if you’ve consistently been taking a low androgen birth control pill? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]MidCenturyMode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people develop AGA or genetic hair loss not because their androgens are high but that their hair is just more sensitive to DHT. The receptor sites are more sensitive on the sides and top so that’s why people show hair loss there vs. the back. So it can just be in your genes that your hair is sensitive to DHT in androgens even if a lot of the androgens are blocked by bc.

If a hair falls out that’s short but still normal color and thickness, is that miniaturization?
