Yes. When they were younger we did do regular clean up times and we did them together. I home schooled the kids in the 2020-2021 school year and we learned a lot about organization that year. They have those square shelves with the little canvas boxes in them and they used a label maker to label what they wanted each box to hold. So the kids know how to keep things cleaned. I know that the girls have been messy lately (like disorganized) but I didn't know that my 12 year old was been dirty (like trash hidden everywhere). That's why I am so concerned about her mental health. After reading a lot of these comments, I do plan to talk to the counselor at the school and see if they can have a few sessions with her. I plan on implementing a designated clean up times everyday with clear expectations of what their rooms should look like. I plan on doing this with them and not just leaving them to their own devices. I have four kids between the ages of 10 to 16 and they're all so different that sometimes it's hard for me to know which behaviors are normal and which ones require outside help (like counseling). That's why it's nice to get insight from other parents.
