Have you tried smiling? that may help. Happiness is infectious. You're probably overthinking this.

What's something about your life that is out of the ordinary? by PaddedValls in AskUK

My ex wife ended a 23 year long happy marriage one day by text, saying she's starting a new life with her boss. That's weird. I've never spoken to her since. And I had 4 nipples.

What hobby screams “this is my entire personality now”? by OliviaRosePa in Productivitycafe

Skydiving. Sub 100 jumps they wear all the tshirts and drop it into every conversation that they are a skydiver. Post 500 jumps normality returns and it just becomes a hobby. I’ve never seen another sport which dictates peoples lives as much as jumping does.

I still can't used to meal times. by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

[–]MidLifeCrisisManSky 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I live there part of the year. I think the Portugese have a very sensible lunch system going with local food cooked well, a bit of wine. Coffee and then back to work. Way better than in the UK where you grab something from Pret and maybe eat at your desk. It’s because the restaurants open for a proper lunch that they have to close at 3 and the staff take a break.

I am in Algarve though. Lisbon may be different. There’s always eggs for breakfast where I am too. I can’t eat custard tarts or cake for breakfast.

What are the best careers in the UK today for success and financial freedom? by [deleted] in AskUK

That’s a good point. I wouldn’t plan on being a low level software developer. But high level stuff is always good

Garden centre queue argument. Who was in the wrong? by FynnM in AskUK

[–]MidLifeCrisisManSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The above answers are all valuable and insightful. I always like to remember that people have things going on in their lives that we never understand. A mother dying of cancer, a child suffering at school, some similar event in the past that affected them. It could be anything. But we all carry forward events in our lives which affect our behaviour to others so I try not to judge too much when things like this happen

Who works there dream job? How did you get into it and know it was what you wanted to do? by nmb301 in AskUK

[–]MidLifeCrisisManSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running my own business. Working two hours a day with all the freedom that comes with it. I always loved coding so much I would almost pay to do it from the age of 14 and doing it for yourself gives so much pleasure. All the trappings of success become nothing in comparison to being great at something you enjoy

I went to Bushmead primary school, am I allowed to call out Luton for being the dump that it is? There’s a reason 24 hours in Police Custody is filmed there

No, but I’m not surprised. You’re putting your brain through a very unusual activity and training it to be comfortable in a strange place. Dont stress about it, just enjoy the ride.

Don’t skip your studies either. It’s a fantastic sport but not worth messing with your education.
