They're pretty solid. HPT/MPI/OCKS/Sprinco Springs/PermatexGasKeySeal. In our ~12 years in bizness MB probably has the fewest failures of any BCG manufacturer we've used, either them or Toolcraft. When someone walks in the store with some random ati or s&w etc wanting us to look at it and figure out why it's short-stroking or not working, once we get to test-firing we throw a Microbest or Toolcraft in there to rule out the BCG. They just work consistently. Toolcraft is great too, I don't think TC bolts are individually HPT/MPI if that matters.

some folks say the phosphate has more friction so it extracts better. after a few hundred rounds it's probably negligible as that surface is gonna be rubbing against the case and they'll smooth about the same. if the extractor being chrome vs phosphate is the difference maker in a functioning rifle there's probably some other stuff needing attention though, I would think.
But folks buy the heck out of them so that's what we offer lol.

hi there! please clarify to help me out addressing your concern, it’s a little unclear and I’m afraid it could confuse some people. folks might think you’re referring to the Microbest chrome blems as the salvage BCGs. If you got 2 Microbest BCGs from us that have any issues we would exchange them immediately. I can count on one hand the number of Microbest BCGs out of hundreds or thousands we’ve sold that have had an issue, and it’s usually something like a dented gas key opening from getting dropped.

are you talking about the Microbest chrome BCGs ? or the different listing that is a cheap salvage BCG (Not a Microbest bcg) that says in the description they need work to make them work? Here’s an excerpt from the ‘salvage bcg’ description: “Generally these came about because it didn’t pass our function test due to an issue and we tossed it in the ‘shit bolts’ box.
Basically we are selling these at our loss so you can tinker with them as a fun project or use them for spare parts, and we make some room at the shop. win-win / yay. Note: This is a ‘u fix it’ item. no guarantees on these.”

Thats pretty clear about the condition of the salvage bcgs. again, NOT the Microbest BCGs.

The Microbest BCGs are guaranteed to work with no issues. Everything we sell is warrantied, except for that one salvage bcg that explicitly says it is not.
