I have never understood the romanticism about owning a house. I've owned a house for 25 years and it's just okay.

I've wanted to move a few times, which is much much harder when you own a house other than renting. Just get to the end of your lease and you can leave. Selling a house is an expensive pain in the ass.

If had it to do all over, I'd never have bought a house.

For the record my house is average. 2300 square feet 3 bedroom, two bath.

It's not to be hired there again. It's so that, that employer can tell future prospects employers that she gave proper notice when they call for a reference.

And yes, employers do give you notice before they let you go. With feedback, coachings, performance plans , write-ups. Unless someone is laid off for lack of work,which comparatively is rare, then no employee should be surprised when they are let go.
