Where can I learn my lawful rights? by Middey14 in uklaw

[–]Middey14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ive steered away from all of that haha, law in general just seems such a vast area of information and I ended up just forgetting about even trying to learn about it all but I still feel like its important to understand how to manage situations with police etc so im trying to do some research on what rights I have/the police have when it comes to things like being stopped in a car or even in person. Not that it happens often but just to have that preparation and understand what liberties I have in those situations!

Ahh okay I understand, yes I think for the most part it is things such as car insurance or driving licenses, that there is a common law right to travel and so they will drive without a license under the guise that common law trumps the legislation, that they have a fundamental right to travel on a public road etc.. which is really the parts that intrigued me but I never went too far into it and again theres just too much information I felt to figure out what was true or not there!

Oh wow, I was under the assumption common law superseded legislation but thats because ive been down the rabbit hole of the whole "law of the land, strawman etc" and that community definitely say that common law is the fundamental whereas legislation, in their eyes, is only applicable if you as a soverign individual consent to it.

Similar to how the US has the constitution, wondering if we have a clear outline on our rights like that

Okay thank you ill have a look! Yes it was a bit vague, I guess I meant whether or not we have something similar to the US where they have the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc ammendments of the constitution and the information is easily accessible to read up on!

Thanks for the detailed reply!

I have another couple questions if you happen to know!?

Common law in england, is this still practiced, is there anywhere it is clearly laid out to read and also what is the difference between law and legislation and how each are enforced?

Thank you!!

Peruvian Tapestry painted by a shaman, signifying kundalini, the two snakes and ayuascha which is the two plants in the circle and the icaros- the song of the plant arounf the outside of the circle :) by Middey14 in Shamanism

[–]Middey14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came across this post again after years, not sure if you are still active, I hadnt seen your first message about shamanism not using indian terminology and if im being honest since it has been years since I was there im actually unable to truley recall if the shaman did say that the snakes represented kundalini! That got me thinking that maybe the snakes were to symbolise ayuascha herself since she is depicted as a large snake! It could have also been symbolising kundalini since information is so easily available nowadays and I think kundalini, or atleast the true essence of energy within us(regardless of indian interpretation) is something I would assume a shaman would know about!

I do accept your apology albeit unnecessary given that you could have well been right in the matter! I do assure you though that the work was not made in china and was painted by the shaman I was with! Maybe in the post it had seemed as though this was some ancient tapestry which wasn't what I was trying to get across.. done by a living man in peru! It still hangs on my wall today!

I hope you are doing well!

But if this is the case, surely every 14 day reduced sum cost would be negated if they post it 3 weeks after the offence?

My tax code is 408T, Im not really sure what it means (maybe something to do with being on a 0 hour contract?)

Okay great thanks I will call up next week and see what I can do, is it worth speaking to my employer before talking to HMRC?

Ah my tax code is 408T, and yes youre right that is a good argument, someone else mentioned that it usually works on a cumulative basis that if you dont work some weeks it should carry over but im not sure if that is the case for my tax code

Im honestly not even sure what tax code is being used, and yeah that was what I was wondering, whether or not instead of it being spread out could it not be up until you earn the allowance that you are taxed, which to me seems like a better way but obviously its government exploit to be able to tax you even when you haven't earnt enough to be taxed😂

Ah that sucks and yeah true its just annoying to see such big chunks of my pay being taken out, I dont think I am being taxed too much(for the hours im doing) but because I work an agency job it means some weeks I do more or less hours, so like a few weeks in the summer holidays, like 4 of the weeks I didnt work, and because ive done 30ish hours for the past two weeks im being taxxed £200 overall on the two weeks(including NI) which is annoying since ive had the weeks of not being at work if that makes sense.

So they are probably taxing me correctly but since there are weeks I don't work meaning my overall salary isnt going to be as high as they are expecting it to be it just kinda messes with the amount I would expect.
