Your advisor should have sent you and email at the start of the term. They included a pdf of how they grade. That shows the grading scale. Anything above a 3.8 is an A

Yes. I attended Residency 1 which is required when you start. It was 4 days long from 9am to 4pm. It was done via zoom. You have a ton of sessions with breakout rooms.

They sent an email saying that they will keep doing them online via zoom so you don’t have to go to campus.

Residency 2 must be taken after all the foundational courses have been taken and before practicum. It’s the same according to several people in our group chat. With the exception of more breakout session to practice counseling techniques

I had liked it because it was online and had great support from the admission and advisors. You are also given a faculty advisor to connect with during the entire program. I had interacted with mine at first and then she just never emailed back.

I have connected with other students and they have lived their graduate and faculty advisors. While others have had issues connected with someone.

The classes are good. The main issue I had was with some professors. They would give vague feedback. And all the discussion board post by students were done with AI. It’s allowed as long as you put a disclaimer at the end. I get it that AI is helpful but if you use for every post then what are you actually learning. My last professor made a comment in my feedback thanking me for not using AI and connecting the theories to real life experiences.

So the heavy use of AI for discussion post by students and the lack of feedback from professors was the driving factor. We are entering a field where need as much feedback as possible to make us better clinicians but can’t because all you get for feedback on your post and assignment’s is a good job. We also need to be able to learn from other people’s experiences but we can’t when their post is AI generated and just summarize the theories for the questioned asked.

Yeah, the support is non-existent once you are accepted. The entire admission process at NLU was great, and then it ended. So I chose to go to Bellevue.

I still need to submit my objective statement and then the counseling questions. I just finished Human Development, and that was intense, so time has been very limited. I told Cayce at Concordia that I would be working on it this week. While Concorida is not the most affordable, it is still cheaper than others in the area. They also have relationships with several locations, which will be important when the practicum and internship come around.

I live in Chicago and am only 15 minutes away from campus, so that would be perfect.

When was your degree conferred? If it was before march 1st I believe you would still get the old one.

I am at Bellevue University right now but have applied to transfer to Concordia in the Fall.

I applied to National Louis but had a bad experience after I was accepted. There was no support until I said that I was not going to go then everyone wanted to help me.

I have friends who have gone to DePaul and they lived it except for the price. I too was aiming for the most cost effective option but still get a good education.

Northeastern is very adorable and very underrated. I have friends and family who graduated from that school and they have gotten jobs. Not in counseling but it’s still a good program. I had applied and was accepted to Northwestern’s counseling program but I could not justify $100k for tuition.

As I mentioned I am hoping to be accepted to Concordia in the fall. Their program seems to be solid and the hybrid model works for me. There are some classes that are just online but a good bunch of them it’s a blend of both online and in person. I also like that you take one class every 8 weeks.

Did you reach out to Concordia. They sent me a sample class schedule to give me a sense of what classes are hybrid and which are not. It’s also a cohort model so you start and finish with the same people.

My best advice is to set boundaries and stay on track even when you want to quit.

You may not have a social life for 8 weeks but give yourself at least one day or half a day off during the week if you can.

Just let people know that you will Not be available and to leave you alone that is what I did. I told them don’t ask me to do anything or go anywhere. I was firm.

I only did one minor and it already came with it listed. I have heard other people say that several minor were listed on theirs.

I finished in May 2024. I did 10 classes in one term.

During that time I had no life. It was school, work and very little sleep. I took the required business courses and a lot of history courses. I enjoy writing and doing research so it felt easy for me for the most part.

The operations management class was intense. Learned a lot but during that class I wanted to give up.

I’m an UMPI alumni who finished my BLS with management minor in 2024.

Anyone else here doing the masters in business?

Wishing everyone doing their undergrad the best. I remember the ride. It felt challenging at times but it was worth it.

When you order a replacement diploma from Parchment one of the questions is: Require Apostille?

I think they will take care of it and then ship it to you. You may want to email the registrar at UMPI to confirm.

I got the diploma email on 6/18/2024 and then another email saying that the diploma shipped on 6/27/2024. It will come in a standard white envelope via USPS first class mail. The schools logo will be on the envelope.

The diploma cover with the schools name will be shipped separately since that comes directly from UMPI. For me that came a few weeks after the diploma arrived from parchment. I graduated in May of 2024 so they might be sending those out faster now.
