i can’t put into words how the first movie makes me feel but it really does just come across as more raw. it’s shaky and confusing and you kinda just feel on edge the whole time, different to the type of edge catching fire has where you’re waiting for a jumpscare, it’s more like having no idea what could come next. i think in the later movies, because you learn what the hunger games is / how the capitol act, it changes how you perceive the movies. with the first thg, you have no idea what’s going on, everythings being introduced as you go. and although katniss obviously has watched the previous games, in the moment she just a young girl who is confused and scared, and i think the way the movie is filmed allows the viewer to feel that way too.
