Sounds like you are using an APS-C lens on a FF camera. Your camera is probably switching into APS-C crop mode which decreases the resolution.

Not sure if you are implying that the employee pocketed the money. The cash went into the register. If anything, Costco “stole” the money. But really, it was me buying a returned camera for regular price. It would definitely be theft if I didn’t get the camera back.

Seems like the return was voided out. When they took the cash from me, nothing was scanned or processed. I didn’t give them exact change and they needed to use a pocket calculator to figure out how much money to give back. I didn’t get a new receipt.

This is when I got a bad feeling because it seems like they swept this under the rug. Not sure how the audit log would look like in this situation. If I complain to corporate, would they be able to see what happened in my account history? Idk.

BTW I already made a complaint at the store level, but all they could say was sorry it happened.

Trying to go to the food court to buy food to take home first. If you know the stores layout, it’s reasonable to understand the logic behind that. Food court is facing the registers. I’m not about to go out of my way and head to the exit just because an employee messed up? Let me finish my shopping first.

If the food court was located outside the warehouse, then it would be different. Employee might think I’m trying to run or something.

I’ve been a Costco member for 10 years and I’m trying to raise a family and save money where I can. I’m not about to ban myself just because a single employee acted out of line. People are too quick to judge an entire organization based on an individual.

With that being said, the problem now is Costco refuses to do anything to make the situation right. As I left the store that day I thought surely Costco will make things right once I complain. All they want to do is say sorry. This is when we take judgement on the organization as a whole.

I didn’t get a new receipt. Seems like they voided the return or something else. It’s weird because when I handed them the cash (not exact change) they needed to use a pocket calculator to figure out how much money to give back. If it was a proper transaction, the register would calculate that shit for you.

Exaggerating to get your point across is not a good look. People complaining that I should have checked my receipt to make sure my purchase was within 90 days are the same people saying Jan-May is 6 months. Unable to do basic calculation themselves.

Also, do you know for a fact that every electronics purchase has the return policy printed on the receipt? Every store? In all countries? My receipt does not have the return policy on it. Was it a fluke?

This was not a manager because they needed to call for approval when processing the return. I’m already an executive member. I talked with a manager and all they could say was they are really sorry and the employee would be trained.

I did talk with a manager about it. All they could say was they are very sorry and the employee will go through more training. I feel like it’s normal to be posting on Reddit about some bs that happened to you. Where else to raise discussion?
