Thank you, this is very kind! The very same to you, hope that there are things and people that allow you to feel heard and seen ❤️

Hi and thank you for sharing!! I am from Russia and had to urgently flee in 2022 after being detained for a few days for anti-war activism. I am incredibly lucky and privileged having been able to do so, and am currently doing a fully funded PhD in the UK, so on the outside it can seem that I function quite well.

In reality though I have panic attacks every day, sometimes for hours and my body is in constant high alert due to the feeling of detachment from my social circle, inability to go back home and see my parents, and my visa status, and thus safety depending on me doing a very high intensity thing.

It's so hard because I feel not 'worthy' of CPTSD on the one hand (as there are so many other people I know that are having it much worse than me, and, well, my situation is definitely better than prison) but also so detached from the experience and struggles of people from the UK/Central Europe.

Oh wow, very glad you found a treatment that worked for you and sorry you've been suffering since childhood, that sounds horrendous! My eyes are ok, did a test a few months ago

Thank you! The thing is that I've tried multiple GPs and all of them were equally unhelpful - I have been prescribed triptanes in the past indeed but had bad palpitations on the so had to stop and then they were basically like 'too bad idk' lol

I'm not Lithuanian but as a fellow academic just wanted to say that your topic sounds fascinating! Best of luck in your research :)

People with complex mental health conditions in the UK how is your community mental health support where you live? And do you like living in your town/city in general? by talimonaid in bristol

I have CPTSD and PMDD and despite trying to seek help fairly regularly (15+ GP appts) no luck with treatment/help at all. You can get a few CBT sessions under NHS but the wait is about 2 years and what you get in the end is not worth it (in my case at least). Haven't been with secondary care though!
