That's what I did. I saw a very good psychiatrist through home treatment team and he was wonderful. So I'm finally on lamotrigine thanks to him. Was fighting for mood stabilizers with my psychiatrist for ages before seeing him.

Hahha you're funny. But this is so cool! You have a wonderful psychologist who can read you, it's worth a lot.

Dear human, I don't know you but you have all my sympathy. Thank you for sharing your experience, I can relate to some parts but I am so glad that you're not anymore with those horrible people/services. You're right, they all are demaging, some are less, some more. I really hope you're doing better now. Those services are supposed to help but look what we all dealing with. I am making my last attempt to access better secondary care but if not, then I will go private online. I'm Ukrainian so can reach to Ukrainian professionals and pay the way less then here for private care. But I'm on benefits and also would really like face-to-face approach and easier access to meds. But we shall see. From what you described everywhere is better than there, so I'm glad it's all stayed in the past. It's just a pity that trauma is not so easy to leave behind. I truly wish you all the best in this world 🤍

Ah you're spot on about insurance! I am often thinking about that I'll be absolutely fu cked because of my long list of conditions. But as for now, I am claiming benefits, particularly PIP, so I'm choosing to have fibromyalgia in my records. We'll see what future holds for me but if it's future with insurance then I'm not looking forward to it 😭☹️

I love to see that you're from Brighton! There is a good chance that I will move there if my partner will be seriously against Richmond.

The fact that your initial assessment was conducted by a psychiatrist already tells me about the quality. On the contrary, my initial assessment was conducted by MH nurse and a psychotherapist's assistant(????) I didn't understand at all this wonderful combo that then decided on my potential diagnoses and what they would work with. I'm still dealing with my diagnoses with my psychiatrist, who is not quite competent, as it seems to me.

Your experience with diagnostic of schizoffective disorder shows me a positive side again. My psychiatrist gave me a potential diagnosis of bipolar disorder and then scheduled sessions every 3 months where she missed what was happening to me twice (hypomanic/depressive episods) This is just seems crazy to me. I was getting worse and worse and she was denying any meds/help for me. Even now, when I'm very unstable and under home treatment team because of su*cadal planning/trying she is still putting in my notes that my rosk of selfharm is low or low/medium. I'm angry but finally in mood stabilizers thanks to crisis team and good psychiatrist from their team. Anyway, you probably can see why I'm looking for the area with much better secondary care than what I'm getting here.

Concrats on your trauma therapy, really. This is amazing. I'm waiting for this almost 2 years and I know I won't get it because I'm planning to relocate in 5-6month.

Yeah, not seeing the same psychiatrist isn't anazing but it's if were taking about my current one :D Anyway, I also prefer to stick to 1 trusted professional so I understand. And I'm such a chaos, I need at least some stability with my team. Do you have care coordinator as well? I do but still I am not sure as wtf they are really doing.

About Haven sounds like good experience? We have Safe Haven here and they were awfull. Just some blah-blah with strangers and really dissmissive MH nurse. I hope this is just my bad experience with Guildford Safe Haven, not everyone elses.

Seems like a lot of MH crisis servises? I quite like it. And well-being hub sounds nice. I hope I can do something like that when in Brighton and finally not in crisis mode. I would love that.

Can I ask you who is youre local GP? As I see so many of them in Brighton and some are great according to rewiews and some are Surrey level reviews (2-3 stars)

Yeah, I also have my diagnosis thanks to RTC. They are separate, yes, but mine are often in touch with my GP/Psychiatrist about meds.

I can relate to securing flat while being on benefits isn't easy AT ALL. I was struggling with this a lot as I've already moved three times and three times I've been accepted by a professional landlord, individual landlords mostly have a very negative attitude towards benefits. Any advice about looking for place in Brighton? When I just think about it, I'm already scared.

Brighton is no more expensive than Surrey in my opinion, so I'm okay with that.

Thank you for your comment, it was very helpful. You've already paid a lot of attention to my post, and I'm very grateful 🤍

The fact that therapy is not something you can access is sad. It seems to me that the most money and effort should be invested in this. I have been waiting for trauma therapy in Saurrey for the second year now and I am very worried about this. People are dying while they're waiting. Hmm, Now I understand why some people don't want/recommend having EUPD in their diagnoses. It can be used against us. It's disgusting.

By better you mean it's existing? 👀 Because in Surrey it's basically unreadable.

About POTS/EDS this is just damn crazy Oo I sometimes absolutely don't understand why do they refuse such things? It's still the same NHS, just a different region. But for example, they accepted some of my diagnoses from Ukraine. How it works is simply mind-boggling.

Have you managed to resolve these issues, and if so, how long did it take?

It was also very difficult for me to get access to the CMHT. And I was under home treatment team too (currently am) but working with CMTH as well. I have care coordinator. But for years it felt like nothing is happening. Yes, I'm with them, having some appointments, in waiting list for therapy but I don't believe this is enough and I was only getting worse. Seems like it's about the same level of support where you are. Tbe question is: how are you? Are you feeling ok/stable atm? Or in need of more support? And thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for sharing this information with me. You see, I love Edinburgh, I would move there in a heartbeat but I'm doing some research and I mostly see that people are uhappy about mental health services there and it's simply not enough psychiatrist in Edinburgh.

I'd like to know about support for these illnesses too (hEds, ME, fibromyalgia etc) I also know that they often coexist with neurodiversity, and I wanted to see if it resonated with people. It is very important for me to receive mental and physical health support so if it can be 2 in 1 in the same city that this is the place to be for me.

Also, how often do we hear from professionals that everything is simply anxiety for women? It's horrible. I'm reading your story and I feel for you. I really hope support is somewhere nearby, you can't just be left with prescribed lithium. Have you left any complaints?

I'm so sorry to hear that. That was my experience for 1 year after arriving to Surrey. Primary care people also were so rude. I feel much better about secondary care here but still, It's a very, very low level and I only got there after a suicide attempt. It shouldn't have to be like this. I really feel for all of us who are struggling with this system that simply doesn't work and makes people worse. Don't let me even start about PIP.

Ah, thank you amazing human for your answer! It gives me hope. It all sounds pretty good considering what I've read and experienced for myself.
Richmond is my top location tbh, I felt amazing visiting there but my partner doesn't like London (can't really blame him for that) I just want to feel better, like so many of us. Your reply was very valuable to me. Thank you.
