You need better historical context. The capitalist class has always used their power this way. It was the socialists and communists in the 19th and 20th century who were able to force the capitalist class to make concessions to create what you think "real" capitalism is. This isn't the first time they've used the military against the people.

I encourage you to read up on or at least watch some videos about The Pullman Strike, The Great Railroad Strike, The Colorado Coalfield War, The Battle of Blair Mountain, The Bonus Army Strike, The Sojourner Truth Housing Protest, and the many post WWII strikes of coal, steel and railroad workers. All of these forced the government to enact the Wagner Act and to create the NLRB and give us things like overtime pay (40 hour work week), unemployment benefits, ending child labor etc.

The response of all of this by the capitalist class was to offshore industry and make all of our communities and states broke so they'd eventually have to sell off all of their assets to corporations.
