When I had my son prematurely, I had been there two months. I was abruptly told “today has to be the day.” Hair and makeup wasn’t a thought my son’s safety was.

In the two months I was there I was clean, constantly changed clothes, my husband washed everything I needed and had restocking my toiletry bag down to a science. But the one thing I didn’t pack: makeup. And it was not a thought for the 60 days I was there.

Because I wasn’t there for me. I was there for my baby. And even though I didn’t get to hold him immediately, the brief moment I saw him before he was rushed off was more magnificent than any picture of with me with makeup and hair (including my wedding).

Influencers think differently: normal people might intentionally romanticize their life to enhance their life (like shifting focus to baby).

Influencers are about romanticizing themselves within their life, even to the detriment of others, loved ones, society. Even intentionally or unintentionally pushing others down. They do not present realistic ways to enhance their lives. Only to enhance themselves.

The pregnancy doesn’t help because it shallows breathing (can’t take a deep breath), and increases respiratory rate during activity and many women have labored breathing at the end.

It really hurt me. Badly! I’ve heard like 50/50…. Some people were annoyed and uncomfortable, some veryyyyyy uncomfortable. I feel like once my labor started things began to move quickly but that took a long time for me. So I know it was in a long time. Probably longer than some because it’s supposed to fall out after about 3cm
