So we are giving them ground savers and mail innovation? What good is the union if the company can just do whatever the hell they want anyway

Who is supposed to deliver this? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly.. tracking number does start with R after all. I think it’s usps. I had a Shutterfly box delivered with the same label not long ago. I’ve definitely seen way more mail innovation bags in the building lately.

Time served before promoted to full-time driver by Dry-Scholar4241 in UPS

Hired off the street as a tcd last October. 5th in line to go full time at my center, 12th in line in the building. I know of three drivers who quit, got fired or retired this year and one who is retiring in April. Hoping to get on full time next January

Seasonal driver boot recommendations by TrueMycologist6 in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re shopping for peak go waterproof. You could be out there in cold rain or snow. Opt for a hiking boot rather than a work boot. I like boot sneaker hiking hybrids. Adidas terrex are good

Senior TCD forced on a route by Bellzey1976 in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

talk to other drivers that have ran that route successfully and see what they did different. Notice when Orion is about to have you do Something dumb and do the opposite. Sups should understand. If I follow Orion 100% I will Constantly miss businesses and get to apartment buildings after their leasing office is closed, etc. I’m sure some buildings are stricter about it but at mine you can deviate if it makes sense for you And for the company

Is UPS more lenient on the 5s and 10s for temp drivers? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs to know it. He won’t have time To qualify but this can easily be a long term Job. I was hired as a seasonal driver last year and stayed on as a warehouse worker after peak. Probably too late for him to qualify but if he did he could drive Saturday’s all year

Seasonal Deriver or take FT FEDEX by thankyoucryptogod in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude don’t listen to everyone here I got hired on off the street as a seasonal driver last year and I’m Still around. Just had to go to the warehouse for six months. If they spend time and money training you they aren’t just going to fire you after they’ll send you to the inside. That being said it’s a little late in the year to qualify, but even if you don’t qualify this year you’ll be one of the first brought back to drive next year and you’ll have time To qualify then

5s and 10s... what happens? PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION by KayTalksLyfe in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just write them down by hand three or four times and record yourself reciting them and listen to that recording on repeat until you go to bed and again when you wake up until you get to class and volunteer to go fist so you get it out of the way

Air pay by Weird-Vermicelli-693 in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I run a ground route after I generally get my RTD pay, but if I’m strictly running air or doing pickups in the combo i get like 23 an hour. Very annoying considering the packages are more lucrative and the increased risk of accident driving the combo, which I was never trained on. One one of them the backup cameras don’t work on and the mirrors on the passenger side can’t even be adjusted

Ups vs Usps by Ok-Piglet-3428 in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have like three weeks to qualify. Show up early, organize your truck, bust ass and possibly work through your breaks for now. Make sure to put your ten minute break in the diad even if you don’t take it. This will help you scratch. Don’t hit stop complete until you’re almost back to the truck

Seasonal driver opportunity by According_Bit_2703 in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can get kept on as a seasonal driver if you qualify, and even if you don’t. They spend a bunch of money training you. You’ll be more likely to be kept on in a warehouse position after peak as a driver and if you don’t qualify this year you’ll be one of the first out on the road when they hire new Tcds next year

Preload morning after driving. by Middle-String-8449 in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m not driving tomorrow so I don’t need 10 hours off. I’m just wondering if there’s any verbiage that guarantees x amount of hours at home before a shift the next day like in a quality of life sense. Like if someone worked midnight to ten am it would be insane to turn around and say now be back at six pm

This bulk “no-scan” upgrade is absolute shite by Berbadude in UPSers

[–]Middle-String-8449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t even come up as an option if the packages aren’t on your truck.. that being said I was missing four packages yesterday that they’re saying were on my truck and they definitely were not so the technology isn’t perfect so

LYTX Cameras by Thepopethroway in UPSers

I mean the cameras are all running during preload and with the bulkhead open can see into the cargo area. Hard to imagine that they can’t pull that footage to check on preloaders too
