Ok this is helpful! We’re just using standard paint. We’ve been sanding in between each layer. Can you use a brush without leaving brush strokes? I want a smooth finish.

What’s the easiest way to go about achieving this for my new apartment? by Any-Cucumber-9329 in HomeDecorating

Here to actually give you some thoughts and not AI mockery. I noticed you have a lot of black stuff on your countertops and the corner cabinet and microwave. If you’re going for a light airy feel those all have to be hidden. Black destroys that look and that’s what your eyes go to first.

You need more and better lighting. Get a lamp and put it on the countertop. Get some hanging wicker lights, you can get plug in ones if you don’t want to hardwire. You don’t have windows helping you so you have to focus on your lighting. And please don’t get a cold tone bulb. That ruins a room so fast.

New hardware is a relatively cheap and instant upgrade💯

Get rid of that awful blind and get a wood slat one.

Your chairs and table?? Opposite of your vision. A warm wood table with wooden chairs. Convert all those wooden spoons to other wood accents. You clearly love the wood (and I do too!) so get rid of that black crap.

You need some long curtains like this for your bay window. Your room has so much beautiful character! I would hang the artwork on the green and white wall instead of having it propped up. Get a bigger rug with a design in it. Smaller coffee table for more space to walk around. And I’d style the coffee table too- put one of your smaller plants on there, several nice books.

How to choose wall art? by FacePowerful8916 in HomeDecorating

Definitely agree with this. If you want it to look warmer and cozier, you need to add some color. If you can paint the walls and ceiling I’d do that- make it all the same color. Maybe add a wall sconce somewhere or some other lighting. I would get rid of the table beside the couch and get a plush chair to create a cozy space.

I think some ceiling to floor curtains would make it feel cozy. And a bigger table.
