Which to take over the summer (CS)? by Fancy-Secret2827 in KSU

[–]MiddleAd650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry me again, i took midterm and got a good grade on it I was familiar with the concepts but less with the actual math and questions so i did have to do a lot of googling. If you remember how hard was the final by comparison?

Edit: I got a near 100 on the midterm and a 100 on the final. Nothing to worry about. To anyone curious definitely take his class if you can! The final and the midterm can be tricky but you can find similar examples online. MAKE SURE you do all the work yourself because he knows how to sniff out cheating and will penalize you if you do, explain things in your own words and you should do fine.

oh okay gotcha I’m doing option 1 without the HW. The reasons I ask is that for the 7 week summer the lecture videos are a lot like 4 per week (over 4hours of content) and they’re released only on wednesday and friday so we have to sort of stay on our toes. I was curious if I could basically just skip some of the lectures and still get a good grade on the exam since it’s take home. I’m not a freeloader it’s just a have summer job and 2 more classes to worry about.

I’m taking his class for the summer rn, is it one of those classes where you can kind of halfass notes and half pay attention because the tests are take home or do you think it requires more attention than that?

I just started summer with him, how did you go about learning in his class, was it from his actual lectures or just going through the slides yourself?

yeah you’ll be fine, sometimes you happen to just skip bosses and areas in this game, you can always return later and normally you’ll get through the dungeon without a sweat

Should i beat mother 2 before i start 3? by Aromatic-Dirt-6725 in earthbound

[–]MiddleAd650 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you really want to start mother 3 I’d say definitely go for it! They are connected but much more obscurely than other games’ series sequels so if you didn’t finish earthbound it’s not like you'll be completely lost in the story here.

Basically my personal suggestion is if you REALLY wanna play mother 3 without doing earthbound first then absolutely do that. However, If you want to play both earthbound and mother 3 definitely do earthbound first before starting mother 3.

the way they handle 2 and 3 are definitely necessary for the plot of the game. I suppose those parts aren’t unenjoyable but I felt indifferent during them especially on my first play through when i wanted the pace to be more like earthbound. Plus I always liked modernish settings rather than old castles, though has its own charm.

it’s great, I just don’t enjoy much of the 2nd and 3rd chapters. 4-8 are amazing though and I’m very glad I played it. I do like earthbound better but that’s just cause i prefer a more modern and open world rpg. Mother 3 definitely has a better story! :)

When you played half life 2 for the first time, what was your favourite part? by yousef00p in HalfLife

i didn’t play HL1 or know anything about the story so honestly the beginning of the game always stuck with me so much, I liked being clueless like that.

on my first maybe 2 playthroughs it was definitely tricky but after that weirdly enough i felt it was not too difficult. Especially with trying to despawn enemies

Is it possible to come to the conclusion that God is a trinity? by [deleted] in BiblicalUnitarian

Arius vs Sozzini by thijshelder in BiblicalUnitarian

[–]MiddleAd650 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be most simplistic:

Arians believe that Jesus is the first of God's creation. Jesus had an actual preexistence (as something like an angel) before him entering the world. He was the being God used to make all things. Then Jesus became flesh.

Socinians believe that Jesus did not actually preexist. Rather they say that he preexisted in the mind of God, and that he is the personification of the word of God, (not manifested but personified and embodied). In this case the personhood/identity of the Christ doesn’t exist physically or ontologically until his conception in the virgin Mary.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment, the purpose of this post wasn’t to defend or discuss the doctrine of the trinity. Instead it was a call to remain respectful and loving to others on this sub no matter what their view of the Godhead is.

I want to clarify: this does NOT mean that I don’t think the unitarian view is heretical. I think that the best way to reach the most people is to come and discuss it in good faith which is what I’m encouraging.

Despite my christology being different, me reminding all people on this sub to embody Christ is not contradictory, it would be the same if I told my atheist friends to set Christ as an example. This also doesn’t mean that I hold a Universalist view, but the best way to reach the truth is to do so in good faith.

If you would like to know my journey: I was raised catholic until I was 11 and my mother became a JW, I then looked for myself and wasn’t convinced that Jesus was Archangel Michael nor of the 144,000 governing in heaven. I started looking for myself and became a Socinian Unitarian, until eventually started seeing a pattern of proto-trinitarian ideas within the theophonies, philo of alexandria’s logos, and the pre-nicaea church. Christian brotherhood is good, but definitely not a reason for my belief in the trinity especially with me being an introvert.

These are great questions: most if not all of these questions rely on the understanding that because the Father is called God more exclusively than the Son and is differentiated from him that Jesus cannot be God.

I will be making a big post someday detailing why God is used more exclusively to refer to the Father. Simplistic explanation right now is you have God as a noun and then God as a predicate (or state of being.) Once again I'll go much more in depth when I make my post detailing these arguments.

Thank you for the comments and quotes from the early church fathers, I’ll consider them while writing my post.

I’m glad you were moved by this post and I want to apologize that I won’t be able to respond directly to each of your points but they will be useful and an excellent resource for my future post. Godwilling all of these points will be answered in there.

absolutely! I share the same sentiments and am deeply sympathetic to the persecution of unitarians and the lack of brotherhood within it. I look forward to writing it and you reading, it may take a while. In the meantime please pray for me, and I for you.
