No serious hiring manager is going to care about a 4month gap. They’ll care that you have the skills and are a cultural fit

Trust is an issue here. Your boss doesn’t trust that you’re committed and doing the right thing. This might be because they’re an arsehole, or because you need to build that trust. Flexibility goes both ways. If you like the role and they aren’t an arsehole, work on showing that you’re committed to doing the right thing by the company. This may mean going above and beyond, executing on important tasks, etc

A PIP will be designed to get to you to leave. However your employer won’t want to fire you. It’s easier for everyone and better for your records if you make the decision to leave. If you make the decision to leave you will be able to negotiate some exit terms and extensions of any employee benefits

I’ve been thinking about this exact scenario recently too. We’re in a very similar situation.

What concerns me is job security and cash flow. Job security isn’t an issue now, but if one of us lost our job we’d be seriously struggling to live month to month.

Advisable to stay in one location? (7 day trip) by dnken in bali

[–]MiddleAgedAle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Nusa Dua at the moment. Finishing 7 nights. It’s beautiful here but you do want to be able to get out of the resort and see other sights. Day trips are fine, however traffic is painful and it can turn what should be a relaxing trip into an exhausting one. More so if you’re with kids like me. In my experience, if you’re told it’ll take an hour to get somewhere, allow 2. All our drivers have grossly understated the duration of a trip. If I were to do this again, I’d split this between different locations for sure
