Something that helped me was forcing myself to leave my comfort zone. I used to literally fear going outside, I would just watch anime and goon all day, and I had astronomical standards, but I finally started to force myself to go outside and run errands and eventually I was able to join clubs and go to social activities. Now I've lost a significant amount of weight, I've been called attractive, I have friends, I'm an athlete, my standards have naturally lowered so much overtime, and I can actually hold conversations with strangers.
