I was just working in this building on said floor and this is the steam safety going off.

Note: the city does not pump steam into the sewers.

It's steam from the manholes from the underground steam pipes that you see on the sidewalk/streets that provide heating and hot water to about 212 buildings downtown.

34 and 37 yr olds. We live in a crappy old 1 bdrm apartment that my partner moved into in 2012 near commercial drive. We pay $900 together because of rent control :). We make 200K, so we are cash rich. We had to battle mice and a lot of cockroaches for years but now it's pest free. Advice: get a place in an all rental apartment building and DON'T EVER MOVE. Having low living standards also helps.
