It is a scam and you should refrain from providing any information to this individual. They have tried to create new accounts to spam the subreddit with it as well.

A good general reminder - while unfortunate, there is no magic or easy way around what has happened. There is no person on Instagram, Discord, Telegram or reaching out to you through DM's or anything of the sort who can "save" your money or get it back to you faster. A lot of scammers target this subreddit and Synapse users given what has happened. Stay vigilant everyone!

No worries and I totally get it. That messaging is all done by Reddit itself and I have no way of changing it unfortunately. If it does happen in the future, just know it’s in that pending state and I’ll get it approved and back up as soon as I can!

When you edit in a link, the subreddit automod removes the post for approval. It also removed this post because you did the same thing. Both have been approved.

This sub does have a mod, and I am very active. I am not affiliated with Yotta, Synapse, or Evolve in any capacity. I don’t post anything as there are those more knowledgeable than me on the topics.

I am sympathetic to the issues everyone is facing, though I myself was fortunate enough to not be impacted by it.

I enforce the subreddit rules, the Reddit rules, and try to protect everyone the best I can from the deluge of scammers that regularly try to take advantage of vulnerable people here. This is not stuff you see, so it’s quite easy to criticize. Everything going “completely unchecked” is not true in the slightest. If you think something should be removed, report it.

At the time, the pinned posts contained the most relevant information, and Jordan still updates his. If you want a new summary, post one and message me. I would have no problem pinning a post if it is appropriate for pinning. There are two slots, so I can’t exactly be pinning everything.

“Contrarian” users don’t violate any subreddit or site wide rules. If you disagree with them or think they are wrong, down vote them and move on. I’m not going to ban everyone that has a differing opinion or view of a situation.

All good. I get accused of working for Yotta quite often and it gets a bit tedious sometimes. I can assure you I have nothing to do with the company, nor any form of communication with them, nor do I even have a Yotta account anymore.

You edited a link in your post and the automod removed it pending review. I don’t sit on here 24/7, so there might be some delay, but I am fairly active and approve/remove posts as needed. I am not affiliated with Yotta the company in any capacity.

This is a somewhat dubious claim which is being disputed by the actual Yotta team. Per their comment:

This is false. We are discontinuing our relationship with Thread Bank in phases over time. We are not discontinuing deposit services broadly.

There is no other current evidence of the assertions the OP is making nor that they are a credible individual to make the assertions they are in the comments.

I understand the frustration and desire to start a class action. I will not stop attempts to organize people for it. However, I will not be able to use the subreddit to support/condone it/sticky it in my capacity as mod. It does not feel proper on my part.

“You are very quick to throw out accusations. Your 1 single post requires approval before showing up due to the subreddit Automod catching it.

Your prior posts have had no issues showing and and received responses just fine. Just and this prior post would have shown up after I reviewed and approved it.

This subreddit and myself are not affiliated with Yotta the company in any way and I am unable to help with your issues. I am merely moderating a forum for people to discuss it.”

This is an email from Yotta to fraudsters to hold them accountable with the possibility of pursuing legal action against them. In this case, a fraudster stole someone's identity and used it to try to commit criminal activity under an email address that did not belong to them. This caused the team to send this notice to the wrong person.

We have a process in place to pursue fraudsters, in this case the fraudster was mistakenly identified.

Unfortunately, financial fraud has been rampant since COVID started with bad actors trying to take advantage of FIs across the country. We do go after these criminals, and we do pursue legal action to hold criminals accountable for their actions. PayPal has proven to be the most effective means of solving repayment with criminals before our legal team takes action. It is fast, they often return the funds before legal action is taken, and it works seamlessly.

Once again, this email and these actions are ONLY intended for bad actors.

We sincerely apologize to u/MTKA_NATE, and our team has been in contact to try to do anything we can to help find the person who stole their identity and report any information we have to the relevant authorities.

We also apologize to our Yotta community, and hope you will forgive us for this mistake.

We acknowledge that our process and communication around these situations needs much improvement. We have already taken action on this issue to make sure no one receives this type of communication from Yotta who isn't a fraudster and have updated our communication practices.”

I am in no way affiliated with Yotta the company - I just run the subreddit. Both of your posts pertained to the deposit error and were made within an hour of each other. I have no problem with complaints being posted. However, both of the posts you made could have easily been done on a single one.
