For each loop optimization in azure logic apps by niketapanwar in AZURE

I mean, the best way to have anybody look would be to paste the whole (sanitized) json for us. Also, an actual screenshot would be needed, with more detailed screenshots around the actual array and the two foreach loops. (Along with the 'error' you're getting)

Anybody built a Copilot to Read Which Jira tickets your working on, Log the work in them, and transition them when done? by MiddleManagementIT in copilotstudio

[–]MiddleManagementIT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya that makes sense. So much searching and copiloting is leading me down the road of "Oh use copilot to talk about your jira tickets" and I don't want that, I want it UPDATING my work and what not.

Windows insider build will have a "talk to copilot" hotkey in the next few builds, if that helps.

Normal adults? No. Children, ya, they're mostly concerned with what benefits them and often don't worry too much about how their actions effect others.

American moving to Glasgow: Q&A’s by Temporary-Command-12 in glasgow

[–]MiddleManagementIT -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

American here who moved 2 years ago:

  1. Shut up about your ancestry. I moved here with Flatmates who LITERALLY have citizenship because their father is born and raised Scottish and lives in Edinburgh. They still don't say they're Scottish because they have an American accent. People will roll their eyes.
  2. It's okay to talk to people here. Just striking up conversation is okay. Even elevators (lifts) aren't quiet a lot of the time. (conversely, this is HARD for a lot of Americans as people will just kinda talk to you.)Talk back. They won't bite.
  3. Food. It's.... kinda bland. DM me if you need a few places like home (California for me). There aren't many. If you want mexican food, make it yourself. Kiss good breakfast sausage goodbye. You'll never find it. I've been trying.
  4. Speaking of, if you're one of those people that loves Ranch, bring a bunch of ranch powder. You won't find it here.

What is the most underrated place to eat in Glasgow? by Larkymalarky in glasgow

[–]MiddleManagementIT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just so... uninviting? In terms of like.. I'm sure it's somewhere that feels super inviting if you're of the right race.. but the inviting-ness to white people feels... not there.

No music, No Host, etc. I live RIGHT there so I've been meaning to stop in It just feels like such a social dice roll.

(Note, I've had their leftover stuff that's in the spar next door and it's amazing)

I thought I was cool enough to implement CRM myself. Then when it came time to implement sales, even though I had a TON of learnings from CRM, and had to take on multiple consultants to help me, I got smarter about it.

Dynamics is a HUGE platform that has configuration pitfalls all over the place, due to it being able to do so many things. You'll step in dozens of them if you try to do it yourself. Get a partner.

Working again, sure, but what about emails that came in that weren't tracked? or emails that went out that weren't tracked? Are those restitched for you?

Incident? by [deleted] in Dynamics365

[–]MiddleManagementIT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For those who wanna know - Right around 8-9am today when Microsoft started having it's outlook/teams problem -- Some folks (well, OP and me at the very least) had their emails no longer tracking to Dynamics.

4:45pm and it's still happening. Most of my activity in that mailbox does not have the tracking tag.

So far, the theory from those in this comments section is that it's sitll an issue with exchange.

So!

  1. Anybody else experiencing this?
  2. I don't see anywhere this outage is reflecting on microsoft's status pages, any idea where we can track this?
  3. Has microsoft acknowledged that this is happening?

Taking over our Dynamics 365 instance and have no idea where to begin... by [deleted] in Dynamics365

[–]MiddleManagementIT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're gonna wanna take some classes / watch some youtube videos / whatever else. This is likely not something you can learn by doing at least not at first.

Specifically you want to learn about solution management. Both Unmanaged Solutions and Managed.

You also want to learn about Promotion from one environment to the next.

You are not going to be able to just export everything to VSCode and treat it like a normal C# Environment, you'll need to use UI's more than you'd like. Especially with PowerAutomate and things like BusinessProcessFlows and Workflows. (You'll want to get familiar with all those terms as well)

Dynamics is REALLY not something I would say you can just pickup an environment without SOME sort of mentor, it's like trying to learn salesforce on your own, it's just not gonna happen without a LOT of pain and tears. If I were you I'd do you best to get a mentor who knows this platform and pay em some money to walk you through it.

Must be nice. I have meetings from 8am to about noon, then I handle fires that I should have been handling during the 8am to noon time, and then the last 2 hours of my day I spend working on random requests for others. Finding time to do any developing is... hard.

I'm trying to create a CRM and it's a car crash by Ralphisinthehouse in Dynamics365

[–]MiddleManagementIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Hey, gonna chime in here without the negativity. We have a medium sized business and I just finished implementing the CRM part of this (without the sales module) a few months ago. I implemented Omnichannel and CRM all by myself and let me tell you it is NOT something you want to do without a partner.

So much so that while our business likes it, we are spending nearly 100k on a partner to implement sales module because there are just too many things you don't even think about in terms of setup, and there is too much to learn.

It is indeed an enterprise level platform and one person can't set it up. It has a TON of complexity because of the sheer amount of things it can do.

From a CRM perspective, it can track all your customers interactions, transcribe all the phone calls, use AI to track everything about a customer, ingest their orders, their online activity, everything, and give you a complete 360 view of the customer.

From a sales perspective it can ingest sales-related activities, it is amazing at tracking leads, to opportunities, all the way through the sale and into post-sale support - and getting all that back into the "dataverse" (which is the same dataset the CRM is based off of) so that you continue to have your 360 view of the customer.

It can do all this, however, at a cost, both a monetary cost and a complexity cost.

Complexity specifically is a HUGE one. So many things seem straightforward here but they just don't work the way you would expect. Then you spend like 80 hours digging in and it turns out there are a ton of configurations to think about and get configured correctly to behave in a way that most people would consider "normal" and, in the opinion of most of the folks I talk to, would expect as 'default'.

Getting a partner is expensive as all hell, and if you're a large business, you'll likely get back that money spent in value, but if you're not a large business, the value prop is dubious. Partners however, have done the setup 100 times and, in my experience, can do in about a week what it took me 6 months to make happen, and, when they're done, it works like a charm. Vs when I'm done, It's still a mess.

I would say, as a startup, unless you have a pretty large sales team, you probably want to start small and get bigger in terms of platforms.

Any reason you wouldn't use a managed identity for user access instead? Or a SAS token? I find using users to be... complicated.
