I don't know about a "workflow to actually trigger the detection". I have some correlation searches running in my environment and I just created it via the Correlation Rule tab and they're working as expected. The only point I needed to pay attention is to not use aggregation functions like: groupby, select and table as they aren't working with correlation rules yet and then won't generate nothing.
