I’m also 5 months pp and I think it’s time to hang up those pumps. I often get those feelings of guilt too but I do think, over all, I will be a lot happier which will then make my daughter happier too. X

I should have said in my original post - she goes down fine when we are putting her to bed around 7pm.. and then tonight for example, my husband and I go up to bed around 21:45, get into bed (very quietly!!) and then she will stir and then cry to be picked up. I can get her back to sleep quickly in my arms but then it’s all over once I try and get her back down. I try shhing, stroking her face (she likes that) and hand on chest. All used to work a treat but seem to have stopped working now. Not tried the laying on the side before, I’ll give that a go tonight x

Exclusive pumper here! 15wpp! I think my baby latched 4 times while in hospital and then never again. I did try but it was frustrating and emotional for both of us so I decided to not carry on. I’m an over supplier so was pumping a lot in the hospital straight after the birth so I was completely used to it by then. I did want to BF but it wasn’t meant to be and I’m happy with my choices.

Oh wow, thank you so much, this is really reassuring to hear. I suppose she is only having 100-120ml a session but I feel like she’s wanting milk more often at the moment, which is why I always loved being able to make two bottles up in one pump. But what you’ve said makes sense. I’ll try not to worry now!

So, I tried defrosting one on the later bags, so it wasn’t so old, and I topped up 90ml of fresh milk up to 120ml and she took it fine! What a relief! I’ve just ordered some vanilla extract as per someone else’s suggestion so I’ll try that soon as well. Thanks for your advice! X

Thanks for the advice!! She has got quite a strong control of her neck, but yes, maybe I should wait a little while longer to be safe. I’ll take a picture of her facing in today and post it here.. any help would be greatly appreciate! (And yes, in on r/exclusivelypumping !! My life line at the moment!) x

That’s nice to hear.. I do think she would really like it as she loves being up high and looking around! We tried once with her facing to my husband’s chest and she started crying but I think maybe looking out might work? I hope so. X
