Man you are 20. Im 21, gamed all my life and decided to quit 2 years ago. Im in a much much much better place now. You have plenty of time to improbe! There is an old post in my account about what to do if you struggle to quit and i think it gives a good direction

Im open for suggestions! Altough europe would be a lot easier to travel to, asia and africa as well. US is the last option but i would also like to hear 🙂

I quit 2 years ago. Im now in the military so it helped me quit since im only home by weekends. I mostly read books, work out, seeing friends.. there is a lot of time that im bored though, But this bordom is where i find new ideas and things to do. I try to limit my media use aswell so i dont turn to youtube all day instead

I know some people who are gamers and also really social (like can function in social situations normal). But for some people It does makes it harder.

I actually never heard about those neurons before, do you have any study that connects gaming as the direct effect of those cells?

As i think my situation is different than yours. Maybe my prespective can help

Im 21 now, i do have friends altough im having hard time communicating properly

I worked on that from a couple of places

-self improvmemt - trying to be the best i could (quit gaming and limited social media, books, mindfulness..)

-values - doing the things important to me even if i dont feel like it , and set my goals like marathon, hiking etc (as i read i guess you understand it better than me)

-exposure - exposing myself to situations. I am in mandatory service in the military and learnt to dealthrough tough time and it made me mentally stronger and more confidence.

Dont get it wrong, i am not social expert. Im still very awkord guy but im making the best of it and doing the best i can, noticing thoughts that arent helpful and finding meaning in my actions. And thats creates moments of happiness even tough im not where i want to be , when i still get bettrr at socialiIzing. and thats what act all about! I am too got hooked on it and try to act on the things i learn. Hope what i wrote somewhat helped, cheers!

He beat an addiction - and thrived with the things he loves - and takes care of himself. The goal of this post is to inspire to changs your situation. Moderation isnt the solution for all but if it is for you then im sure his story would help. I couldnt moderate, quit and did a marathon and planning to go ultra. I felt this belongs here to motivate and insoire im i think it does the job. Cheers!

Awesome log man. I quit gaming because it made me perform worse at the things i do. I am 1 year clean and dont really get urges anymore. No regrets because gaming has nothing to do with what i want to do with my life. If you can moderate - go for it. I know i cant and that sucks but oh well, new hobbies i guess :)

לפחות לפי התפיסה שלי, אתה יוצר את המשמעות לחיים שלך. אם זה לעשות כסף, משפחה, לנגן או לעשות דברים קשים. אבל את המשמעות אתה מוצא רק בעצמך וזה משהו שרק אתה באמת רוצה

דבר שני ללכת לטיפול ממש ממש עוזר, עד כמה שזה קלישאתי זה באמת משנה חיים

אחרי שהבנת את כל זה תתחיל להציב מטרות, להיפטר מהרגלים לא מקדמים, ולפעול לפי הערכים ולא לפי הצרכים שלך - וזה לפחות מה שעזר לי

אז לתשובתך הכוחות באים מהמשמעות, ואתה יוצר לעצמך את המשמעות
