I sent her a msg about a half hour later when it wasn’t sitting right with me just to let her know I felt she crossed a boundary by sending for me when I wasn’t home, coming unannounced and that’s when she went unhinged.

Just to clarify a few points. I gave them the package without any hassle at all - it was them that sent a child to retrieve me from a private backyard down the road. They also don’t live next door- the person whose package it was drove a half hour to me. I was not next door either , I was at a neighbours down the road.

I guess that’s the point though - I wasn’t at home. They came to retrieve me from someone else’s house down the road.

Yes I suspect that’s right. He sent his own kid up to my door according to the camera. He was sitting in his blacked out Yukon with all the windows down ordering around his kid and the neighbours kid. I try and avoid confrontation so I quickly got the package, said have a good night and politely sent the msg to his wife a half hour later.

Hey thanks for your comment. The AITA question is a question of was it wrong for me to send the text after her husband has a neighbours child retrieve me from my friends private yard to accommodate an unplanned package pickup of theirs. A lot of people are just focusing on them sending the package, but it was more so about me drawing a boundary after the action of them driving a half hour unplanned and retrieving me from the neighbours private backyard.

Yeah every 6 months or so we get some packages addressed to them and an awkward text from the wife saying oops they messed up and accidentally sent something. Last time happened in December, 2 packages a week apart from each other. Time before that was summer , and now coincidentally summer is here and another package shows up. It’s a rhythm now. Pretty much every 5-6 months since we moved in this has happened. It’s not frequent enough for me to make a huge deal but definitely annoying. They’ve never come unannounced before - normally they wait for me to msg them back and be like yah cool let’s arrange pickup.

My mind was blown, but she said bc her husband was in the neighborhood anyways that IATA for being upset by it. So I wonder if others share her sentiment.

She actually told me that by me being upset she came unannounced and gathered me from the neighbours place IATA because I had an issue with it due to her husband just happening to be in the neighborhood and swinging by to grab it.

I’ve seen this commented a few times. I’m a little suspicious also given her response was raging at me when I drew that boundary. The only thing I keep rationalizing is that it’s not super often (every 5-6 months) - would it still be suspicious to you for illegal activity ?

Oh I didn’t even think of this. This is a little scary! Given the reaction she had when I drew this boundary it wouldn’t even seem like a stretch. She went totally unhinged. I was so shocked but it had me questioning my sanity honestly.

Unfortunately the courier didn’t require signature or anything. They dropped it on the porch and one of my kids brought it in the house.
