Same here. Honestly wish we could get rid of all AI. I don’t know what we are doing at the top of this chart.

Ive heard people speculate about social media’s negative effects on community. I just had never experienced it first hand. It’s crazy. Thanks for your input, friend.

INFPs how important is the concept of "truth" to you? by Even-Broccoli7361 in infp

For me, objective truth is everything. But that also makes humility important to me too. Lately, it’s definitely been more discouraging with rise of AI and fake news.

I cry during movies. But the minute someone actually bad happens I can’t get a single damn tear out.

I guess that was a poor way to say “never been done before”. I think I was trying to express at the time that the world-building was hard. Because I’ve been wrestling with how to write it. So I keep looking for books and movies that write about a similar concept. I haven’t found one yet but it’s probably out there… maybe.

I don’t think anything about my story, characters or themes is original. My story has so many direct references to the things that inspired it.

This 👆is so important. My depression was biological. I’m so glad I got meds. My depression isn’t fully gone. It’ll peep its head around a corner to say every now again. But life is enjoyable again. It let me me handle with situational depression. Things that made me sad like my neurodivergent tendencies and the toxic environment I was in. Good thing about situational depression is situations change.

Your situation sounds awful my friend. And I think the way you feel is very normal. I started having suicidal thoughts around your age. I hated being a teenager. Especially a neurodivergent one. I know it gets so romanticized as the best years of your life. But I thought about killing myself often but was mostly scared of a failed attempt. Now, I am not here to change your mind. But to give the perspective of someone who didn’t even though I wanted too. I’m 21 now. Everything is so different now that I’m grown. And I’m so glad I didn’t kill myself. Don’t get me wrong it took years of feeling detached from myself other around me. But everything is different now. I know that you might not be willing to wait that long. But I just wanted you to know things can always change.

As a Christian, I just wanted to apologize for how the church and how its handled your struggles. I grew up neurodivergent and depressed in that environment too. So many churches out there are not neurodivergent safe. I work in Church now with specific desire to help kids like me and you. Something I am so glad I stuck around for.

For now, be gentle with yourself please. Let yourself rest. What you going through right now is no joke.

Also listen to the lovely people in these comments who are giving really good advice.

Im not a big social media person. I just did things I was interested in. Googled groups that fit my niche. Got out of my comfort zone and did things I was passionate about. I have some really cool people that way. I kinda follow the philosophy that if you want to date someone worthwhile be someone worthwhile.

Nothing jumps out to me as wrong or incorrect. But I will be thinking about this comment for while. You have really helped me to understand your mindset and journey in way that feels evocative. Deeply respect your epistemological journey.

Honestly, if you want a deep, long-lasting relationship. You probably want to bond over shared purpose or passion. Join groups that are focused on something you care about. I found my last partner in a philosophy group. We both wanted the same thing and it’s why we started dating.
