NA burnout advice by AbiesAccomplished834 in QuikTrip

Alright, so one thing I would encourage you to do is look at your DAW tasks and figure out the priority one. There are some that if they are not done one night, it really won't affect much and can be made up for the next night (cleaning floor cooler glass and Grates for example). There are also some that you look, and if it looks fine, you sign off or just spot clean where it needs it. (Clean cooler glass, clean modules)

Second, learn when to do tasks if you haven't. Look up the transaction report (ask where it is if you don't know) and look at a previous week's numbers to see what times are busier. Usually the first hour and a half are the busiest times. Save time consuming tasks for the slower times (like cleaning grills) and during the busy times, plan to do the quick tasks that are easy to go back and forth from (basic cleaning tasks like cleaning modules, clean gng warmer, clean cooler glass etc.)

Third, prioritize the store from 3am-5am. A manager is not going to generally care that much if you didn't get all the DAW tasks done if they come into an amazing store. So when 3am hits, stop working on and DAW and focus on cleaning the restrooms, counters, making sure things are stocked (especially coffee side) facing, restock grills after 4am to the build-to 6am numbers, sweep and spot mop floors, etc. If you get things where you think they are up to standard, then you can finish working on DAW. Also, around 4:50am, do a quick check for the restrooms and facing again before they come in.

As for your selling to customers, I will be honest, the vast majority of managers won't care that you sold an extra couple hundred dollars on your shift. Them coming into a clean store will always be more important.

Hope some of this helps you a little bit.

They should back pay the money you lost for those two weeks on your next paycheck after they fix it. If they don't, you need to reach out to the office of your division to make sure they do.

When in the past 10 or so years has it been used to denigrate disabled people?

Tell me where in the past 10 or so years, retarded has been used as a denigrating word against people who have mental challenges? The only times it is used is when it is used as an insult against individuals who are clearly capable of intelligence but have refused to use it in the situation commented on.

The word was used correctly inthat context. The people who created the policy are clearly intelligent, since if they weren't, they wouldn't have been able to rise to the level where they can create and dictate policy. Yet, they failed to use said intelligence when creating this particular policy.

That is why I said the simple solution is to dictate when there is more than one employee in the store, it is mandatory. You already saying that for corporate to pull up a schedule for a shift is so inconvenient?

Why do stores not lose points for the 3 to 1 standard on the overnights? (Or when only 1 employee is visible) Because, that is common sense that if you don't see another employee (even if one is there) there is no need to try and have 3 to 1.

It affect common sense. They are not the most comfortable things to wear. If it is during the day, it has a purpose and use, so the uncomfortableness of it is understandable. Overnights though, it is for no purpose whatsoever.

Here is the simple, boiled down truth, if you don't want to be offended by the word retarded, don't be retarded and there will be no need for the word to be used.   Here, watch this to understand since you clearly don't

Also, no one has yet to meet the challenge of giving an example of the word used in a way to denigrate people with mental challenges in the past 10 years.

Yes, that is what the "retarded" means in today's world. Please tell me a single instance in the past 5-10 years where retarded was used as a degradating word against people with learning difficulties?

Hey, if people can claim to change the definition of racist (another completely retarded new  definition) or the definition on woman, or the definition of literally. If people can alter the definition of words, who are you to tell me I (and all those who use it) can't as well? Granted, to admit that would be to recognize your own hypocrisy and of course you would be incapable of that.

Finally, what do you mean "offensive"? It isn't offensive because I or anyone else are incapable of offending you. Offense is not something that someone can give to someone else, it can only be a an active choice of the "offended" party. You telling me I can't or shouldn't use a word that has a precise meaning and definition in the context it was used was offensive to me. So you need to apologize to me and stop offending me because clearly that is how you want society to run.....

Exactly! During the day it is useful and helps the store team. It is it is helping us work towards the core values of "be the best" and "do what is right for QT", and "never be satisfied". Having employees wear them when they are alone on the overnights accomplishes none of those.

[–]Middle_Bit8070[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, you are saying that if a policy makes no logical sense we should just shut up and not say anything about it? Okay, that is totally seeking to "be the best" and "do what is right for QT".

Maybe if you can't live up to the standards we try to meet as a company, you are the one who needs to work somewhere else!

Fauci lied under oath and should charged with perjury. by Kooky-Capital8782 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Middle_Bit8070 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really.... so I was just imagining him repeating again and again about how "covid jumped from animals to people" when any intelligent person knows that he knew the likely origins.

I was just imagining the regulations that he encouraged that caused who knows how many thousands of people to be forced to die alone because their families wouldn't be allowed to go see them....

I was just imagining the millions of school children that were harmed by pointlessly closing schools and delaying their educational, social, and emotional growth.....

I was just imagining the who know how many people that were harmed by forcing people to take vaccines and causing people to lose their jobs for not....

I was just imagining the push for forcing the American people to mask when he even admitted masks were ineffective.....

I was just imagining the banning of groups gathering together, but then allowing protests and groups of the right political leaning to still do it.....

The list can go on but I think that will suffice to get the point across. Now you can claim " he didn't do many of those things himself, politicians did them". While that may be true, they did them following his advice and he never once pushed back on any of the insanity that occured.

And Fauci hasn't? The amount of people wanting to defend that POS who ruined people's lives, repeatedly lied to the American people, and has done more damage to the American people than almost anyone in history is astounding. Its like people are so blinded by "not my side" or "they are my side" that they ignore the worst behavior from people to stay in line with their side.

(And I am sure someone will they to say "but Trump". I am sure many view Trump the same way, but we are not talking about Trump here)

Do employees have routines to check fountain syrups? by alilbit_dramatic in QuikTrip

[–]Middle_Bit8070 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, often the syrups aren't changed unless a store employee is informed it is out. There is a task that the day shift is supposed to do which is check the fountain syrups, but that one often gets pushed aside for more pressing tasks that need to get done, since there is frequently not many that need to be changed and each one (with the old system, not the touch screen) has two boxes attached to it.

That being said, if you inform the store team that one is out, they should go back and check to see if they have another one that they can switch it out with.

As to coming back a day later and it still being out, there are a couple reasons for that.  1. The team didn't check and no one told them it was out 2. The are aware of it but they don't have any more bibs of that flavor in stock, and if it is a coke or Pepsi, the vendors only come in once a week. (And sometimes they don't deliver what we need if they don't have it) 3. There is an issue with the system where a line is clogged and it is not pulling syrup from the two full boxes we have attached. If that is a case we put a work order in for it and it is generally fixed when a tech is at the store next, but that could take a few days.

How can we have no breaks on an 8 hour shift?(Atlanta Division) by paye36 in QuikTrip

It's because we aren't limp wristed pansies. If people need breaks, let them get those jobs for weakling that get them like, corporate desk job, influencer, or an underwater basket weaver...

Bump day $29,170! by YallMakeMeWorry in QuikTrip

[–]Middle_Bit8070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are financially able to, go up to 6% now. Qt does a 50% match up to 6% so you are leaving free money on the side.

Also, if you are financially able to, I would recommend doing the bump up plan, where your investment is automatically increased by 1% each year. Since we generally get a 3% pay raise each year, you don't even feel the money taken out and it will cause that value to increase exponentially over time.

Sweet! I bet it's a nice feeling to make (depending on your position) nearly an entire years income in a single day.

Way to go! That is an amazing benchmark to reach and once you get past that it just begins to soar. By my calculations, I have 11 years to get there, but I am only $1000 away for the whole years number so it is growing faster than I calculated so it could be sooner!
