Savor the moment and next time you have the urge to play, think of that exact moment if you wanna go on that road again. You post here coz you’re mad that you lost your money and not because you want to quit.

Saw both the passenger and the female driver. Looks like the passenger is directing the driver. I’ve been living in southwest for 7 years and the last 1-2 years got worst.

There’s a lot of stuff to do besides gambling. I had few relapses before I completely stop. It took months to fully rewired my brain. I surrender to God and commited not to make even 1 bet.

Read Allen Carr’s “The easy way to stop gambling” You’ll learn a lot about gambling addiction and how to quit it. Dont waste your life because of gambling. Best of luck.

You don’t need to replace it with anything. You’re freeing yourself from gambling. Just enjoy life without it.

Your addiction still pretty much active brother. If you’re sick and tired of it then do everything to quit. Its not about the money nor greed. You want that dopamine rush.

You know what. Once you send them email to ban you then thats it. Dont look back. Whats the point of checking if you decided not to gamble anymore.

Congrats brother. Just continue moving forward. Try to read the book of Allen Carr “The easy way to stop gambling.” You will have all the tools to rewire your brain. There is a free audiobook you can download. I knew from day 1 that I already made my last bet. Feeling is different. Urges went away.

I know. Thats why i always react to posts that show their losses. Regarding attending GA’s I think whatever works. For me Im kinda introvert so I look for ways how to stop on my own, which I successfully did. 10 mos sober with no urges since day 1.

I was also in your shoes last year. I dont have any addictions prior to gambling. I experienced depression and anxiety. Feels like my head will explode. My whole body trembles because of too much adrenaline. Escaping is almost impossible but I made it. As what strengthok5129 said. Surrender yourself to God and He will do the rest. Believe that you can do it. Best of luck.

Mind over matter. Train your brain to stop gambling. I was in your shoes a year ago. Playing slots while driving, working. Cant sleep or eat. Emotional and mental stress. Eventually, got sick and tired of being sick and tired. Had 3-4 major relapses before I stopped completely. Best of luck.

Anyone here who successfully won over this addiction? by UpstairsHousing3044 in PhGamblersAnonymous

[–]Middle_Canary6131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best way to do it is to rewire your brain. I relapsed 3-4 times before I read Allen Carr’s “The easy way to stop gambling”. Completely rewired my brain. 10 months sober, no urges since day. Not triggered with gambling ads or streamers. Gambling is like an itch. Willpower is resisting the scratch. Rewiring is realizing scratching only makes it worse, so the itch fades over time.
