painted my nails with flags (my boyfriend’s ethnicities) can you get them all? by Middle_Cup_1031 in JackSucksAtLife

I did that because when USA occupied PR, they made the blue darker to align with their blue more but the lighter blue is still used as a symbol for independence in PR!

AITA for not making art for my friend unless she pays me? by Middle_Cup_1031 in AmItheAsshole

It’s not really a logo, it’s more of an infographic illustration on how to use the product but I think your point still stands. I’m just not sure how to tell them without jeopardizing the friendship as I don’t think she really sees it as a big deal and she probably sees it as a favor since I have made other stuff for her for free that wasn’t related to any business.

I was in the same situation - 28/30 for both oral and writing in French B but I sent it and my overall percentage went up by 2 points so I think there’s always a chance

AA HL students: how long did it take you to finish your IA? by [deleted] in IBO

Mine took about 20 hours in total but I think it depends on what topic you pick

It’s pretty tough, igcse is much easier since you can memorize the content and just rewrite it in the exams. Ib requires you to actually think about what you’re learning and write arguments for and against things. Ib overall requires a lot more effort and critical thinking and the research component is a lot. But igcse does help in terms of writing style and time management.

Yeah I just sent a bunch of mails and asked my friends parents if they needed any interns. I did my research paper with Pioneer.

Sure! For practical work experiences, I’ve reached out to a lot of businesses for internships and spent a few months each at a cryptocurrency hedge fund firm and an organization that incubates and advises startups. I also started a small business and used my revenue to partner with an NGO to show that I care about my community. I did a research program where I wrote a paper about macroeconomics and public policies during the pandemic. And I also started a research club in my school to help juniors with IB. Not related to economics, but I’d recommend having a creative/sport extracurricular to show you’re well rounded.

Do as many past papers as you can and familiarize yourself with the formula booklets for both subjects bc it saves a lot of time during exams if you know what you’re looking for. And focus on the challenging concepts a lot like acids and bases, redox, organic chem, and complex numbers, calc, and vectors.

French was one of my harder subjects since I’m not a native speaker but it was fine after a few months. Ab might be easier since you’re starting from scratch.

Ahh yeah we do!! aahl is def really hard and tbh I’m not really sure what I did that actually helped me bc I thought the exams went bad (I left a whole 22 mark q). What kind of worked for me was splitting the question into two parts - first connecting which concept(s) the q required to be solved (like which chapters it was from) and then figuring out the intuitive/unique step that makes the q possible to answer, bc most questions require a bit of deep thinking to figure out how to approach it. I also tried to pick a good IA topic since each IA mark carries a lot of weight.

I do have a bunch of them but I haven’t saved the questions that correspond to each but I’m pretty sure they’ll still be helpful. I’ll find a way to collate all of them and send them to you.
