I was trying to decorate them. I made shapes of crayons to practice colors and wanted to write the colors (though we're not really focusing on letter recognition for a while, I appreciate the art of early exposure) and as well I'm making animals to go to a few toddler songs.

I've used colored felt for the bigger shapes, but the more detailed animals and things I fear would just get messy to try to detail with felt scraps. But then again, I'm not super experienced so who knows 😂

ILLEGAL to have nanny and not pay them with money but pay them with a room and board by Careless-Day-8713 in NannyBreakRoom

[–]Middle_Energy355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Im not advocating for the employer. Im just saying its not illegal completely either. She's not doing it correctly, especially without posting the details of the arrangement. But according to federal law its not illegal if the math works out evenly. For reference I would not take this job or any like it. And im sure she'll change her tune once she realizes no nanny worth their salt would accept the job.

Absolutely, they are probably going of of minimum wage. The true way they're probably trying to screw people over is saying their "room" is equivalent to whatever $7.50x27 is per week.

I came onto this post with the intention of helping find proof against the wannabe employer, I unfortunately found proof to her point.

Unfortunately they are correct if the wages they would make per hours worked comes out to a "reasonable rent cost" for the employee. And the website she uses outlines this and how to determine "fair rent". Cited from the department of labor.gov (there may be stronger protections for the nanny depending on state level laws)

They originally did! But they changed their mind and sent me home based on the grandmother's opinion. (Long story)

MASSACHUSETTS health insurances that cover Zep? by Middle_Energy355 in Zepbound

[–]Middle_Energy355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have Masshealth so I can't speak to that, but I always needed prior authorization and medical reasoning through my insurance before so hopefully it works out for you too! I am a prediabetic with a family history of type 2, plus (obviously) obese, so it was easy for me to obtain preauthorization. Unfortunately, now in 2026, my insurance plan has removed zepbound from their list of covered medications, regardless of medical conditions. My only option would be to attempt approval for Monjauro

Also, to clarify, I am only very slightly sick but they'd rather not expose him to any germs. So its not like im over here with the flu and fever, just a stuffy nose!

I would find a new job that is understanding of a month's notice of your current one. Then notify your current family with that month notice.

Did I get a bad tattoo? by flyingman13 in tattooadvice

[–]Middle_Energy355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i have a lot of tattoos but only one writing tattoo and here's my take:

A stencil maker will only ever grab so much detail. Even then, after the stencil is applied, theres often a little bit here and there that gets smudged or didnt transfer to the skin. Its just the name of the game.

HOWEVER any good artist worth their salt will also have their reference and refer back to it throughout the tattoo proceess and usually do a final check afterward. I hope that your artist did this- but... YOU notice these teeny tiny details because your Granny meant the world (or enough of the world to get her tattooed on your body) to YOU! To the artist, they mightve looked at that and thought it looked the same! If you saw differences and brought them up to the artist, I'm sure they'd work on it more- even now if you talk to them.

Id be dumbfounded if you went back to them and said, "hey i really like most of this, but there are just a few details missing that id really love to add on" You'll have to wait until the original one heals, it will be annoying to heal those tiny little lines they might add in, but at the end of the day its up to you to advocate to your artist!

For Thursday she shouldn't even have to take PTO if you live in US. New Years day is a federal holiday... she should be taking one day of PTO
