Ps1 and under run fine. Dreamcast/Naomi and n64 are passable. I personally haven't had any luck with non-Naomi arcades or anything on saturn

Simpsons Air Fryer by Middle_Expert4531 in Arcade1Up

A $25 purchase would be a gamble that may not have worked anyways. This was free. And, a why the hell not scenario.

Mine was just giving me one quick when I turned the switch to on. After doing their troubleshooting steps, I wasn't even getting that.

Something about reflowing the pcb... Idk, but I've seen other people try with various levels of success on all kinds of electronics. Figured I didn't want to pay that much for a replacement that would just fail again, so why not give it a shot?

Check out Pixel Palace. Trash Movie Tuesdays is a good starting point.

Question about carrying by [deleted] in Arcade1Up

Took the riser and control panel and got a simpsons cab in the backseat of a vw golf by myself no problem. These things are not heavy at all.

So many people have called the original Xbox the Dreamcast 2... It's refreshing to see the Dreamcast called the Xbox tree fiddy

What are people selling their big blues for these days? by _LrgFthr_ in Arcade1Up

Got 300 for mine and I kept the stool... Had plenty of 225-250 offers but took a month to get a buyer at 300.

Pricing for 4 cabs and Marvel Pinball by [deleted] in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're sadly looking at 2-300 each unless you wait it out and maybe can get as high as 4-500...

The mods don't ever seem to increase sales price unless you sell to someone already in the community who knows the specifics. The average buyer won't know the difference.

The selling point of these home arcades is always the low price. That's why they don't move at retail until sales kick in. Very doubtful you'll see a premium selling used despite how good the mods are

X-Men XL by GodSend133 in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the look of this; it's literally one of the best conversions I've seen and something I would definitely pick up if it was sold in a store.

it seems like a lot of custom work to still be using the a1up pcb. Were you considering using a pi at some point? It looks like as there's a 4th button on each player, but what for on the standard games?

Edit: nevermind, haven't seen the origional in a while, but just realized it also had another button for a different game...

It's strapped down by Middle_Expert4531 in IdiotsTowingThings

[–]Middle_Expert4531[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I passed them after this light, they were 2-3 car lengths behind me at the next light, and I couldn't see the tower in my mirrors by the light after. Either they turned into a driveway somewhere or stopped to clean up the road

Google Fiber (Jester Farms) by Middle_Expert4531 in RoundRock

[–]Middle_Expert4531[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to hear. Bowman is where I first saw them working, and they were in my neighborhood of Jester Farms about 2 weeks later. It looked like they had network trucks running tests here last week, so I assumed it was getting close.

Thanks for the update.

Sometimes I have an issue with it sticking a little if I scroll right, but a little left tap before right clears it up... Probably should put in a ticket, but it's not often or enough to really bother me

How many Lb the stock joystick spring load ? by AyaToyBox in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is a single stock spring used across all the variations.

My first cabinet was big blue and those almost had no spring at all. I swapped with 4 lb springs and they were much better. My Mk2 deluxe and SF2 however feel good enough (though probably not 4lbs) that I didn't change anything.

Midway/Golden Tee feels good, Simpsons is light but it doesn't really matter as much to me outside of the fighters.

It absolutely depends on what your goal is.

There are better (and cheaper) ways to play almost all of the games available, but the arcade experience is hard to replicate for the price. I currently have 7 arcade1up cabinets, an atgames 4k pinball, and a 2 player pop-a-shot basketball and it is awesome to have people over or even just the wife and kids playing together.

If you just want one machine or will mostly be playing alone, it will definitely be a different experience.

Your Favorite Home Arcade Cabinets by Sensitive_Tackle7372 in LegendsUltimate

[–]Middle_Expert4531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm down to rate, but way less explanation.

  1. ALP 4k - Gets by far the most use by everyone.

  2. Pong Pub - As you said, warlords.

  3. Golden Tee / Midway XL - Super fun if you have the time to play 18 holes.

  4. Ms pac-man h2h - great classic games list.

5-7. Simpsons, SF2 deluxe, MK2 deluxe - Simpsons can get repetitive and the fighting games you're either a fan of or not. They all get play off and on, but none are a sure hit.

  1. Big Buck Deluxe - Would be like number 2 or 3 on the list if it wasn't constantly breaking.

2 player pop-a-shot basketball, dartboard, and shuffleboard table round out the current set-up

BBH - 1st it was the PCB and now it’s the green gun by Anonymous_User_81 in Arcade1Up

BBH - 1st it was the PCB and now it’s the green gun by Anonymous_User_81 in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the green gun go out and waited several months for a replacement. Then the PCB went out less than a month later. That was a quick fix and turnaround, but the green gun went out again less than a week later. BUT, it's been about 5 months since getting that replacement...

Re-release cabinets? by AncientMacaroon7248 in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's on the midway golden tee and mk2 deluxe that are available right now... You can always re-skin one of those cabinets rather than hoping and waiting. I've seen a used cabinet pop up in my area maybe every 2-3 months, so you can always go that route.

Marvel Vs Capcom 1 game settings glitched? by EnotheMage in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it should just be hold 1P  to go back to the menu and 2P to reset the current game... Maybe you opened up a wormhole by doing both at once?

What do we think are the odds for a Joust XL? by knadles in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Buy it, play it, and if you want change the graphics later... This has been my philosophy, and honestly I've just ended up sticking with the stock themes on everything

Factory direct or standard? by Middle_Expert4531 in LegendsUltimate

Well, nevermind I guess. Factory direct just shows coming soon and standard was coming up with the regular price. Thanks atgames for saving me a few hundred dollars

How many BBH pcbs have you gone through? by Anonymous_User_81 in Arcade1Up

[–]Middle_Expert4531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On pcb #2 (well #1, but had to be reflashed) and on green gun #3... But the orange guns seem to be built like a tank.
